Hello everyone, I currently have a Z-10 but I'm going to upgrade to the Z-30, my question is this. Which version will provide LTE coverage for Dallas Texas. BlackBerry direct only sells the STA-5 model and on amazon.com I see the STA-2 model are available. I went through most of the comments for the LTE thread but most of those comments were for the STA-5 model... thanks in advance for your help. I was awaiting to see if we were going to get an announcement from MWC on a new all touch but since we didn't I don't mind getting the Z-30.

Neither model guarantees you LTE on AT&T, but you are more likely to get it with the -5 than the -2. With the -2, you have 0% chance of getting LTE on a US carrier.

If you have good true 4g towers in your area. You will not notice the lack of LTE. Enjoy it : ) and dont upgrade yet. Dont load a leak either.

Raino, thank you for your reply, I order the -5 this morning. I have been running leaks since my 9700 but I will run the stock version till they get 10.3.1 sorted out for the Z-30...

Thank you kindly Sir, I had saw that comment as well, I figure I would just take the plunge.... I'll ride the Z-30 till at least 2017...

I have the -5 on AT&T and don't get LTE but don't miss it at all either.

I'm not in the Dallas area, I'm in upstate NY (near Kingston) on AT&T with a STA 100-5 and I have been getting LTE service about 1/3 of the time, with the balance at 4G. I wasn't expecting to get any LTE going with the 100-5, so I'm very happy.

I live in Michigan had the 5 and now the 2 neither got the LTE in my area no big deal still as fast as my z10 on LTE.

Hi,
My hubby has Z30 and we are near Fort Worth. For the most part it has very strong 4g signal. It doesn't seem much different than the access times on my Passport which has 4g LTE pretty much everywhere. He has used his Z30 as mobile Hotspot on 4G and it worked fine.

I bought a STA100-2 but it seems that the Mexican LTE band is not compatible with that model. Does somebody heard something about that the new OS unlocks the LTE bands?? Or something like that?

It is not something an OS update can fix, because the bands just aren't there. Mexican carriers use bands 4 and 2, which are not in the -2 model.

Raino, , loving my Z30, I'm getting LTE coverage in Addison Tx, Mesquite Tx, Carrollton Tx, all of these places are right on the edge of Dallas.... also all around Dallas in pockets....

Good. I'm glad. The Dallas area is AT&T's backyard, so it's nice they supplemented their LTE coverage over there with band 4.

4G here in Sacramento CA but it's full bars and blazing fast. I notice zero difference between it and my Z10 ND Passport that get LTE. All on AT&T

In many markets AT&T's LTE network is not much faster than their 4G network. Here in San Diego, CA that is the case.
