With the likelihood of a next generation device on the horizon, is it worth it to buy a new Z30 now? I'm considering a move from my Z10, which I love, but I'm longing for a phone with better battery life. The operating system is great, the feel and size of the device is perfect for me however I'm in need of a better battery. Is it worth it to get a Z30 now or should I wait for the new device?

Perhaps you can wait it out with a extended battery pack? I've seen someone using a 4500 extended battery. He is pretty happy with the battery life. Just suggesting.

Get the 30 and don't look back! My Z10 has been gathering dust since the end of Feb.

I don't expect the Z30 successor until at least April 2015 but possibly even Sep 2015. If it's not the same form factor as the 30 I'll wait until Spring 2016 to get it as this phone is that good.

If battery life on the Z10 is what you want just get a bigger battery and deal with it. Its not that bad being just a little thicker.

You won't regret the Z30 especially if you're after a solid build and long battery life. I sold my Z30 and got a Q10 purely because I couldn't accustom to typing on a virtual kb.

Let me put it this way: I've had my Z30 since BlackBerry began selling it directly in the U.S. on their website.

If mine broke tonight, I would buy another one tomorrow. The Passport and Classic are coming, but we have no idea when or if there's a flagship touch screen device coming. I don't want a reworked Z3. I don't like the look of it. The Z30 is luxury in your hand, and it's not something I want to be without.

Nope. Still have my unlimited local calling ($50), FREE $15 loyalty pack ($0 - unlimited sms/mms, voice mail 10, caller ID) and good 'ol $30/6GB (Total $80 plus PST / GST)

Loyalty said if I wanted nationwide unlimited calling it would be just $10 more...declined as my unlimited local calling is all of the GVA (Greater Vancouver Area) including Abbotsford and stops at Chilliwack.

I very, very seldom call anywhere else across Canada and if I go to the U.S...I use my Roam Mobility Sim.

go for it. changed my z10 because of 6-8 hours usage time. with the z30 (same setup: data, accounts, etc.). from 6 am to 12 pm with still over 50% battery. incredible. plus it seems a supercharged z10. plus looks/feels great. best device i ever owned.

Depends if want all touch or keyboard. If want All touch you're probably going to wait at least 6-12 months before a new device comes out.

If you can pick up a Z30 for cheap, do it! Otherwise, if the battery on the Z10 is the only gripe you have about it, try an extended battery like others have suggested. No harm in trying right?

I have been using Z30 since Nov 2013. I was very happy initially moving from Z10 to Z30 and was enjoying it. Over the period, I started getting complaint from callers about my voice very low while I use to get incoming voices very loud and damn clear, so I thought it's their device problems, I was not taking it seriously. Last week, I called my wife in another room both using same network, my voice was very low on her samsung note. Just to check, I put my sim in iphone and called her again, this time voice was loud and clear on her samsung note.
Now, I am very worried about my Z30. I had damn confidence about BB devices for call quality.
I would like to know, whether other users are also facing similar issues on Z30 or it is specific to me. I have verified by installing various OS 10.3.0.296 to 10.2.1, there was some improvement in official OS compare to leaked/hybrid ones. Is it hardware issue?

I've had Z30 since release date but never really put this baby into action till I decided to give the 10.3 a test run on my Z10 ,didnt like the way it was running so instead of wipe and reloading the Z10 again ,I just pulled out the brand new Z30 I didn't bother to load up the leaked 10.3 on the Z30 till about two months ago.
No regrets it's working fine other than a few bugs but that's expected, I've since wiped and reloaded original OS on the Z10 but cannot put the Z30 down anymore.
Go for it Z30 is a beast of a device when and if the classic comes to town that might be the only other device I would grab, I've always been a physical keyboard guy and if I'm not mistaken it's going to be about the same size in dimensions as the Z30 just smaller screen space.
But time will tell

Download BBVE (BlackBerry Virtual Expert) and do a hardware test "Audio Record". Let us know if it failed.
