Not sure of interest but apparently my new Z30 supports Qi charging and Verizon sells a 45 degree charging pad. It is the TYLT VU Wireless charging pad. The cost is 70.00 and is compatible for my Z30. Gonna check it out and let you guys know if it works.
There are some links in other threads (do a quick search if you would like) where people found them for $50. I paid the $70 happily though as it works conveniently. No searching for the cable and charge port in the dark.
There are other cheaper options although they lay flat, but found one on e-bay for $29.95 (ECO Qi Wireless cellphone charger for Blackberry Z30, Black) with free shipping works great and took a chance on one on Amazon for $18.99 from China (Lerway Wireless Qi Power Charger Pad for Lumia920 HTC 8X S4 S3 Note II (Black))--just got it yesterday and seems to be working fine. Pretty basic but seems to work. The ECO is nicer has lights that show when phone is charging.
nexus 5 has a killer solution, small square charger, with magnets that make putting it down to charge a commanding experience, feels solid, looks great and charges quickly. The pix of the z30 thing looks crap. Anybody hear of a aftermarket solution for Q or Z that would work on the google charger? Must have the same magnetic solution to prevent it flying off your desk.
The Tylt is terrific (though pricier than the horizontal chargers Staples did NOT have in stock). Qi charging is SO easy and it works on my nexus7 too. Nicely understated and the perfect angle. The contact area is the entire surface so impossible to miss
Palm's Touchstone technology is different than the new QI standard. I think the Touchstone technology was superior but proprietary. They are mods for lots of phones to add a Touchstone coil to the back cover you can buy on eBay but none for the Z30 sadly. Would love to use my Touchstones for my Z30 (instead of just my Pre3).
3-4 hours to charge my Z30 thru its Einzige case. Duh. TYLT is a must. I heard wireless charging is a joint project between VZN and BB. Much less strain / torque on micro USB Connector. Time will tell.
