I've owned a Z30 on BES10 for just under a full year and I'm curious what's your boggle?

What issues in particular and WHERE are you experiencing these issues with your Z30?
    - it supports dual band 802.11N while the Leap does not.

personally on Guest, public and private home networks, NEVER had an issue.

How is it crappy? Mine works flawlessly. Perhaps you could go into a little more detail, then maybe we might be able to help you.

Yeah mines terrible as well, struggles to pick up close to half the access points my z10 did, struggle to keep connected in a lot of cases, it's embarrassing how bad it is.

Mine has become like this as well!

I thought it was my network or something but looks like it might have something to do with the OS update or something.

Since release my Z30 has been excellent with wifi, in signal strength and connections. I work in a large aircraft hangar and in areas I'm in that customers complain about no or poor signal, I'm showing three curves and good speed. Guest, open and secure networks have never been an issue either.

I have no doubt some are having wifi issues, some phone related and some not, but fortunately many of us aren't. That being the case, the thread title is very misleading and should read "My Z30 " instead of "The Z30".

Exactly! I've had my Z30 for a year and a half with no Wi-Fi issues in multiple countries. So why can't I say that "the Z30 has excellent Wi-Fi"? Because the OP would say that I'm over-generalizing. Well it works the same in the opposite direction, too. The Z30 does not have Wi-Fi issues; the OP's Z30 does.

At about 20' from the AP I'm barely at 1 bar of signal strength.

I was listening to the Corus Radio app last night and didn't notice until I closed Flipboard that I was using data.

I have the app set to not use the mobile network, but it seems that it will still do so if the WiFi signal drops off. It's only when connecting that it obeys that rule.

I recently returned from 3 weeks generally in France. Paris apartment had wifi and the z30 connected each and every time we returned to the apartment, about 3 or 4 times a day. If worked reasonable well on some poor wifi signals in some very small hotels or refugios. Usually connecting when in the lobby or where suggested. Again, it would pick it up when returning after being out and about.

But I'd agree, there may be some units that have poor antennas or may be damaged by slight jarring or falling or just something inherently wrong with particular units. Not the overall product.

Well either it's software or hardware, now my Z30 is coming up about 2 months old, but I never checked the wifi for long on 10.2.1 before I updated, I'm not sure but I think it may be a software issue.

Mine was perfect on 10.2.1 but after upgrading to 10.3.1 and beyond, I've had frequent drops and lower signal in spots that were not an issue prior to upgrading it.

Actually on my Z30 it's working too good lol! Every time I come home and turn wifi on, it goes straight to the optimum hot spot on the corner of my street which is about 600' away! I'm only getting a bar or two of it,but it chooses that signal over my full bar secured wifi 20' away! It drives me nuts. I'm on the 10.3.2.858 released by Verizon.

No issues here. Although there was a time in the past when my Z30 used to forget saved networks, for some reason.

I believe you can re-order them in preferred order. Tap SAVED and then at the bottom of that screen, Prioritize

If it is not a physical problem (case covering the back antenna, orientation), try changing the wi-fi channel because another wireless signal in your area could be interfering with the signal.
