Just wondering, whats the point of having a removable back cover with out a removable battery.

Access to the SIM and Micro SD port. Fewer openings on the outside of the phone, mean less of a chance for dust to get in. And those little plastic swivel covers always get broken off.

Ability to hide the microSD slot, SIM card, and those pesky imprints ("made in," recycling symbols, etc).

I see your point. But still there's got to be a better solution to it.

You can switch out the back cover, make repairs if needed and it's more visually appealing than having the door like the Q5.

I may be wrong but I do think you can still replace the battery. I think it is more like a part replacement. So, not practical to swap out midday, but ok for replacing when the battery goes bad.

That was my assumption. If I was making the Z30, I'd make the battery removable with a small screwdriver so if it went bad, the user could replace it at home or the guy at the phone shop could do it in a couple of minutes.

The new Samsung S4 Active comes with a couple of different colour back plates. A black/grey and a cool orange colour. There's a whole bunch more you can buy to mix it up a bit too.
