I purchased one for my z10 a while ago on Ebay. It never felt like the original battery.

It's a BlackBerry Z30 on Big Red and still on 10.2.1

That's not proof that it's through an authorized distribution channel. Just because it says Rolex on it doesn't make it a Rolex

The fact that you can't order one of these through Shop BlackBerry suggests that BlackBerry themselves isn't making these available.

Just because it doesn't come from ShopBlackBerry.com doesn't mean it's not OEM. These batteries were not meant to be user replaceable batteries, and that's probably why you don't see them listed on ShopBlackBerry.com The intent was that if the battery needed replacement, you would take the device to an authorized dealer or BlackBerry service department and they would replace it. The fact that you can still buy OEM batteries for most of the BBOS devices is a good indication that they still make them for the Z30.

I got done changing the battery in my Verizon Z30 STA100-3 yesterday.
It is the same battery as in other Z30 models, I also posted a link to the one I got for the replacement via Amazon.

Take care if you do decide to get one were the battery is already mounted in the middle frame, as that is one of the parts different on non-STA100-3 models, so you would have to remove the battery from the replacement frame to swap. The battery is held in with strong sticky tape/glue, so it's very hard to remove a "good" battery without bending it and risking damage.

Like there's such a huge demand for spare Z30 parts that manufacturers are pumping out knockoffs and fakes..... *rolleyes*

The back of my z30 says my battery is a
2880mAH. The ones I see for sale on Ebay are 2800 mah. Kinda can't be original can it?

If you look closely they say 2800 / 2880 on the sticker. Not sure what that means exactly but!

This is why I do not buy phones with sealed in batteries.

Long live the Q10 and the Z10!

Did anyone check with BlackBerry support whether they can replace the battery in the z30?
If that is possible, then it would be great even if they charge like 30 bucks... peace of mind!
