Go for the Z30 since it has significant improvements than the Z10, eg. new antenna technology and a huge battery capacity. Z10, I think is more pocket-friendly though because of its size. Either way, both are good devices.

Z30 is Available unlocked in usa thru web purchase.
Is that ShopBlackBerry.com or Amazon? I think the Amazon Z30 is only the STA100-2 model. I believe T-Mobile requires the STA100-5.

Whatever device you choose, make sure you actually go and try it out. Play with the demo models of the BlackBerry phones. And if you need to play with an iPhone, just stop any 5 year old on the street and I'm sure he or she would be happy to show it off to you.

I had iPhone 3gs and 4s and gave some thought to this myself, I got bored of iPhone and was seeing less reasons for me to stick around, not to mention the battery just SUCKS. I would have to always carry a charger with me at work. And thats just with texting and web browsing mainly, not even a lot of games or videos.
I decided to give the Z30 a try, have had it since thursday and am extremely impressed with everything, battery, sound, the feel of the phone. Sure it is missing a few apps i have on my iphone like netflix, but i can side load that.
Coming from iPhone for so long i highly recommend the z30 instead

also with my iphone it was common for my signal to drop to 1 or 2 bars while at work and everything would load slowly (in the end draining battery quicker) but my z30 has yet to drop less than 4 bars at work in the same spot

I played with the SG Note 3 and the SG S4 yesterday. Not good enough for me.

I'm glad I waited years with an old Razr in my pocket (and a tablet). I felt foolish at times last year because I had no real smartphone not modern I mean. So, I got the z10 and began posting comments and complaints. Now I am willing to move up to z30.

Money is not the big thing. Functions, reliability, upgrades, these are my priorities.

Get the Z30!!! it's an amazing device BlackBerry should have slapped this baby out way before the Z10.. I now have both and can't even pick up the Z 10 anymore it's just going to collect dust I'm afraid.
Just need accessories for the Z30 now I do find it a bit slippery in my very dry hands.

Ok here is my dilemma - need a new phone and I am struggling between the blackberry or iphone 5s. I am a complete blackberry fan, currently on the bold 9900, had them for the past 10 years and love them but wife and friends all on the iphone. I don't use a lot of apps just simple stuff (email, texting, Internet, Skype). I want the z30 but don't know if I can hold out for it or should I just get the z10 or switch to the iphone. Wife is sick of eve talking about it and just wants me to make a decision - any suggestions?
Go with z10 if z30 wait is to long honestly an iPhone is a downgrade at this point since u don't use that much apps

Coming from a 9850 I (we) would have no problem with touchscreen typing. My chief concern is whether BB10 works better than the Playbook OS, which is for the birds! My PB is an expensive paperweight with a weather radar function at this point.

BB10 is much better in every way than PBOS, except the multitasking on the PlayBook is superior in the sense of being closer to a desktop experience. BB10 is clearly restricted by the phone form factor in this regard.

I still use my PlayBook every day to read long PDF documents. The Z30's screen size would still be a tad too small for this task.

Me too. Bought my wife the Q10 and I am so used to the Z10 touch screen that it feels foreign to type on a physical keyboard.

    SQN 100-4 v10.2.0.1761
After being on a Z10 for a few months, I had to type into my husband's 9900 ... physical keyboards make typing feel like work! Plus the predictive text on BB10 is so accurate, I rarely need to type out the whole word anymore. I'm so spoiled by the ease of the Z10 keyboard, the small amount of input on the 9900 felt exhausting!

ETA: As much as I love the Z10 - I wish I had waited for the Z30 ... except I didn't even know it was on the horizon.

Z10 is an awesome phone too. But, if you can wait for the Z30, I think you'll be happiest.
