Walked in to the factory store on 69th and 3rd Avenue. Upper East Side Manhattan. Z30 sitting there and not a dummy. No signage no nothing. iPhone 5c banners all over the place. Played with it for 30 minutes uninterrupted. Heavy foot traffic in store. NO ONE interested in Z30. Very nice phone but the keyboard is not a replacement for my wonderful Q10. Screen quality fine. No lagging. Nicely made. Only available online but in stores in 10 days. All according to the big red V. I do not think that this is going to be a big seller. A real shame.

I don't think that comes as a surprise to anyone though. Thanks for sharing.

I think we are well beyond the point of seeing any buzz about BlackBerry in pretty much any US store. On average. It's going to take a long time to change if it ever does. It's hard to even imagine how stunning a device would need to be at this point to cause fanfare.

Absolutely NO MARKETING. NONE. COMPLETE FAIL ON BB's PART. When the iPhone 5s was introduced there was a line around the block. A crying shame.

Even lowly SAAB as it was dying had more print ads and announcements than this company does for the introduction of the Z30. I just don't get it. How do you introduce a flagship phone, reject offers to sell/split the company and in the same breath NOT provide ANY marketing support for the US market. This reminds me of this year's NY Yankees. We were out of the playoffs by the second week of the season. This is really pathetic. If you do not believe in your own products, then why should I as a small business owner. Really bad messaging.

Lack of any advertising right before Christmas is a crime.. this is a chance to cash in on some consumer sales at least even if the focus is now mostly enterprise.

Who really thought BlackBerry was going to change its approach? I know I didn't. I guess the fact the Z30 will even be available in stores is the only surprising part here...

We live in a media driven society. That media has said, don't buy blackberry, so people don't. Only the smart ones ask why. Then the smart ones look at the empirical evidence and then choose BlackBerry. It’s good to be smart. Sent on a 9930

In my opinion if BlackBerry don't figure out they have to market they will never ever sell many phones. The loyal BlackBerry users are getting less and less. I don't understand why they don't understand

There's no point in marketing BlackBerry in store or out. It didn't work for th Z10 or Q10 and vz stores DID have marketing for those

Blackberry needs to save cash and figure out its next move. They wont be able to afford marketing through this one. Best best is to hunker down and push their next phones hard, but this time with the app gap fixed and serious hardware. Its too late for the Z30. It was too late from the beginning.

There next move there only move is to market the products they have spent billions in R&D on and make some kind of noise.

You know whats really sad? Android and google play get more love on crackberry than BlackBerry and BlackBerry world
