Recently upgraded to a refurbished Z30. Wow, it's actually a nice device so far, but seems to have a weaker reception than the Q5, is it just me or they are known for weaker signal?
Searched the form but no luck

In theory, yes but my old 9900 had much better reception.

I don't know what you're talking about my z30 I always have 5 bars I rarely get bad reception

I seemed to have a much weaker wifi connection on mine but for actual cell reception it was amazing.

I have bought two z30's and 4 q5s.

One of the z30s does have occasional inconsistent wifi, but cellular reception is excellent. GPS is quicker on the z30.

Z30 has the option of 5.0 ghz wifi.

Thanks guys, the phone I purchased is refurbished and wasn't sure if I needed to exchange it as it only shows two bar for cell signal while the Q5 beside it shows full signal, now and after testing i feel like what's on display is not always true.

congrats on your upgrade the Z30 is a much better phone. Technically the Z30 antennae is supposed to be much better. i dont see any problem as long as you get service you can rely on.

Z30 is a great device I just received mine this month.. if I am not mistaken depending on the model of your Z30 it varies what wireless provider it does better with.

The paratek antenna is pure gimmicks, the z30 has average reception at best, ive had two z30 and both had just ok reception, sometime less than other phones I carry around. All that daid it still is a great device.

Paratek antenna is amazing on Z30, nails the signal in any location, only the wifi can be a bit temprimentle. Just hit the flight mode occasionally and it will kick back in.
