Yesterday, I got a software update. Now wifi-calling works. Great that T-mobile sent what must have been a patch for our phones even though they don't sell the Z30.

I haven't seen an update come through as of yet and am running 2160. Are able to snap a screen shot for us to very it's working? Try turning the cellular radio off and placing a call, sometimes the icons on top can be misleading as to how the call is actually being placed.

Nothing here yet. Tried Link to see if upgrade there and is not. But, found it on Sachesi. I will load to see if it gives me wifi calling which I really want on my BBZ30 on TMO.

Please keep us up on this as this is the only thing keeping me from moving to the Z30.

Op, does your os say .2160 or 2234?. I found .2160 via Sachesi (country code 310 (USA)), carrier 260 (TMO USA), Z30, Sta 100-5.
I downloaded via Sachesi the .2160.
I then installed (but am still waiting for complete install).
I noticed though that on the installing screen it references .2234/.2235. These numbers are higher than .2160 so Sachesi installing the upgraded version. If you could check your OS is settings to let us know what it shows please.
Never mind. The OS version is .2234 and Software release is .2160. It is downloaded but does not appear to have wifi calling. Ug. I do not see the tell tale wifi calling emblem. I will try calling anyway and also reset my device.

Well, I tried a reset, also tried to install the wifi calling app (gives error). So, it appears no wifi at least for me.

Just to clarify a point, if you don't have a T-Mobile sim card, wifi calling will not work. You must be a TMO customer.

I believe the poster a few spots up had this spot on.... Nice Aprils Fools! Sucks that you wiped your device if this was the case though.. as far as I know the actual device has to be imei registered to TMO, which won't happen because they don't sell it, the actual Wifi hand off occurs with tmobile signed modified version of the BB10 which also is not under development because no plans to sell the device exist.

Na, I did not have to wipe. I wanted to upgrade to .2160 anyway (non destructively with Sachesi) and this would have been the icing on the cake if wifi did work. I will have to rely on "Taki" sip program to make wifi calls if necessary on my Z30. Besides, I have both Z/Q 10 also active on TMo so I have wifi calling covered there. Ya, April Fools for sure eh. ahahahhaha.

I'm sorry, while the wifi-slider now works, the phone wont receive calls through wifi. I apologize for any frustration caused my over exuberant original pos.t

The app is more like a switch -- you need to have the right radio, OS, etc. for it to actually function. Right now those things do not seem to be avail for the Z30.
