It is obvious the Z30 form and size is very popular. Why doesn't Blackberry update the Z30 form with new hardware like the universal Paratek network connectivity like in the Passport?
    FD-LTE 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20 (2100/1900/1800/1700/850/2600/900/700/700/800 MHz)
    HSPA+ 1, 2, 4, 5/6, 8 (2100/1900/1700/850/900 MHz)
    Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
and a few more goodies like increasing memory from 16 to 32 GB.....

That is what a lot of members are waiting for - even passing up the Classic and the Passport. Probably a FT BlackBerry(as an upgrade to the Z30)......next year- maybe. Depending on the Slider later this year, I may or may not continue to wait. When it comes to BlackBerry and asking "WHY", I stopped a long time ago.

That would make a great phone.
Maybe they do it like Apple does, just call it the Z30-2.
Keep upgrading it every year or so to sell more.

I've been using a Z30 for only about 5 months now and I love this phone. I'd like to see an upgraded Z30. Hope it comes!

But I'm hopeful that the slider would be a good alternative.

Actually, the problem is that neither the z10 or z30 were that popular. Bb did not do well selling them. We shall see

These phones fell victim to BlackBerry's situation at the time. You can't say wrong place wrong time because if they came out now we'd be complaining the hardware was from pre-2013.

That being said, I strongly believe that had BlackBerry held out another year and launched BB10 at the beginning of 2014 with 10.2.1 as its OS. It would have had a far better adoption rate by consumers at the time. Making both the Z10 and more importantly the Z30, much more relevant. The Z30 is the most underrated BlackBerry ever made, there hasn't been one occasion were I show someone my phone and the words out of their mouths is "that's a BlackBerry?! Wow I didn't know they had a phone like that.".

    Look! It's Zedzilla 30!

It would have to be a pretty substantial hardware update with clear benefits to convince me to move from a phone that I am already extremely happy with. I suspect the same would be true for many others. Maybe in a year or so, an updated Z will make more sense.

They would have been dead by then.

They needed these phones released in 2011 when they were still relevant and had brand power.

Damn right : that is just what I'm waiting for before getting a brand new BlackBerry phone. Was considering buying the Passport but was hesitant about the multi media part due to its screen ratio. Then talks started about the Slider being a decent upgrade to the Z30: Wait & see; meanwhile I'm still very fond of and addicted to my Z30...

That would be great, a z30 with 2k screen, a better camera with just like the new iPhone's and just like others said a few more goods like ram. AND SOME ADVERTISING.
I made 4 other people buy bb10 between my friends and the rest of them keep saying why doesn't BlackBerry do advertising having so great OS?

It is in the Z30, but maybe there have been Paratek upgrades since the version in the Z30 came out.

I am waiting until BlackBerry release a version of OS10 that can be installed onto a standard Linux kernel. Then, once Ubuntu for phones gets established, we can use any high-end handset...

In the real world though, I reckon we will probably see a high-end, Korean-built (read glass, fragile) all-touch handset in 18 months or so, assuming the Samsung collaboration works.

They would not have been dead. BROS sales after the launch of BB10 were still greater in numbers. So waiting the additional year to get your OS stable and to determine which hardware to lead with, would have been the right move.

I can't argue with what you say as I too am very happy with my Z30 (STA100-5 running 10.3.1.2708), however, I do like to upgrade once every 3 years and no longer than 4 years.

man. I just got the z30 a couple days ago as an upgrade from my z10...I think it's the cat's meow of a device even though the Z10 has a higher ppi screen. I cant think of anything the Z30 really needs to improve since it already has an awesome display and battery life. it runs better than the z10 too!

is 4k screen even necessary let alone a 1080p screen? those features just end up burning more battery life anyway. what needs to improve is the OS and it seems that theyre constantly working on it. However to this day all OS10 devices are very usable.

That would be a great update. I have the Passport but can't stay away from my Z30 for too long. It's so fun to type on. I love what BlackBerry 10 is on a full touchscreen phone. I had the Z10 too, but the Z30 is a lot better.

It doesn't seem like BlackBerry will be making a full touch phone any time soon, but I'd definitely get one if they did.
