I've used my z10 for nearly a year now, and am still loving it! But I'm tempted to upgrade to the z30 (and pass on my z10 to my mom). Any pros and cons to consider before i make the leap?

Well all I can say is look at the posts that have been about the Z30, your going to love this device. I can not think of any negative aspect of it what's so ever.

If you do a search there are many threads with users whom have made the switch and share there experience.

I can tell you if you don't mind a larger device you will love the Z30. I have only had my Z30 for about 1 week and just like you a Z10 user for about 1 year. There is nothing I miss except for a larger selection of cases!

I'm having thoughts on upgrading also. Aside from a lower PPI that I may or may not notice, I don't see any downside on having a Z30, except if you're uncomfortable by its size. Everything else seems perfect.

I'm on the same boat... OK, I knew about the battery improvement and the antenna... but I don't considered the battery as issue since I have an extra plus I can charge my Z10 even using other chargers and I don't have problem with signals... for the screen and size, I still believe that Z10 is the perfect size for a mobile... and with the same UI experience and current market price of Z30, I don't think that it is worth to spend that much for "some" improvement... if Z30 price will be reduced drastically, I might consider upgrading...

Anyway, that is my POV...

Trust me guys I have owned all three bb10 devices and hands down the Z30 is the king. It looks bug but when you start using it it's unreal how good the size feels.

Well, knowing you are authority on the topic, how's the lower PPI? Is it noticeable?

I haven't been able to any difference myself as I think it depends on your eye sight a but. I only keep my brightness on 50% so that might be it also. But al my friends here on CB that have moved up all rave about this device also.

I just went from the 10-30 and loving the bigger screen/ keyboard and the speed. Speakers are great too but don't use them. Worth it if u can find a deal but I wouldn't pay 600+

Had my 10 for 11 month. Got a 30, three days ago and ain't looking back. LOVE IT. Speakers, size, keyboard letters bigger, battery life out standing, seems faster, better reception, I bought it from Verizon for $550 & put it on AT&T installed leak 1925, loaded snap. Best phone I've ever owned by miles. No comparison to my wife's iPhone. She told me tonight she wants one. Good luck with your destion

Wow guys, thanks for the p.o.v. The unit is still quite expensive in Malaysia here, its about 1998 RRP... which is around 600+ in US dollars... hmm not sure if the price is right... but are all z10 apps compatible with z30?

Everything I had except for Sayit worked perfectly. Actually I think the snap apps work better. Seems to me there faster. I unstalled Sayit and didn't put it back. Never used it however she was coming on randomly

I badly wanted to love the Z30, but when I checked it out in the shop I couldn't get the screen as bright-looking as my Z10, at highest brightness on both devices. This was with wearing my corrected spectacles for near vision [+2.00 dioptres]. Perhaps this is the PPI difference becoming evident, as I presume the brightness setting on both is similar, though I haven't checked. Anyone with any thoughts or clarifications?
Apart from that, the size was no problem to my hands, that take size 9.5 gloves. I would consider swapping over when my plan runs out.

I just got a 4500 may battery for my z10 so nothing appeals to me in the z30. The speaker and two antenna features + the USB feature are great but not enough for me to give up seamless one handed use, better screen, the all black look I totally love, more apps and the pocket ability of the z10. Cant wait for my battery to get here as the battery is the only thing from the z30 that attracts me and it was in reading about the battery that I came across the 4500mah battery for the z10. Only �17+ here the uk.

I'll stick with the z10 and only upgrade when a later upgrade i.e better than z10 and z30 comes available. If ever..

Had the Z10 for about 3-4 weeks. Then bought the Z30. I definitely like the Z30 a lot more. Better battery life, much faster (you can definitely notice when using Andorid apps from SNAP), easier to type on, louder speakers. My only issue is that it's a little too big with my OtterBox Commuter case on it. Most Commuter cases are pretty slim, but this one is a little too bulky.

If money really isn't an issue, then you might as well go for the Z30

I park my Z30 next to my wife's Z10 every night for charging. You can barely notice the screen difference.

Even if you can notice a screen difference, the super super long battery life (along with everything else thats better/improved) of the Z30 makes it worth the difference!

I went up to the z30 after I dropped and smashed the screen on my z10. I really liked my z10 with the latest leaks installed on it. But once I unboxed the z30 and started using it, I realized that the keyboard being slightly larger increases typing precision even more than what it already was on the z10, which was amazing. It also seems like a much more complete phone, with 10.2 being pre installed and really not having to install leaks to make it functional, if you choose not to. The screen size increase to the full 5" has made the viewing of movies and gaming much more satisfying, and probably the area of the phone that showed the most improvement for me. It's just such a nice looking phone too. While my black z10 looked understated, my z30 looks and feels like a porsche

Bought an unlocked z30 from Canada. Got the the STA100-5 model. Get great LTE most places I go. Have noticed that I have an increased signal in most places that used to give me trouble with the z10.

Just loving the overall experience. I was able to back this thing up with link when it wouldn't recognize my z10.

Now contemplating the leak.

This thing is awesome. I watch most of my movies on my mobile device. So far I am still enjoying the way it looks and the screen is bigger.

Plus, if you need to open the back cover,don't yank. Pop open a little and run thumb nail or credit card to finish.

I contemplated like you for a long time to make the jump to the Z30. On paper, the updates specs don't seem like they warrant the upgrade price, but after using it, I can never go back to the Z10. It's better in almost every way.

Thinking more seriously about upgrading myself. At&t is helping that decision a bit by not carrying the Z30... for now. I'm sure the price will come down at some point, and then I'll see what's around that's most compatible with at&t, assuming they're still not carrying it by then. No rush -- still loving the Z10.

I made the switch, and as much as I liked my Z10, the Z30 brought my satisfaction with BB10 to a new level. Best phone I ever owned. Just love using it. Size is perfect, battery life is just plain awesome. This thing runs smooth. I should mention that I am running leaked 10.2.1.1925 (loaded it as soon as I got the phone).
Picking up a Miracast dongle to play around with that too.
