That dummy line thing doesn't work anymore as Verizon considers it a chance to your plan which causes you to lose your unlimited data. I tried to get off my own att plan and get on my wife's Verizon wireless plan so I could get the z30 and they wouldn't let it happen unless she was willing to give up the unlimited data.

Thank you for the advice southlander! Think I am going to give this a go tomorrow and see if I have any luck with this. Did you do it this way or know anyone else who has successfully been able to do this?

This is how I bought my Z10. I tried the website and found it confusing. Kinda like buying domains on Go daddy lol. Forty million upsells, etc. So I just called an agent. Told her simply sell me the phone for full retail and DON'T touch my plan. Got the phone. Popped in the SIM and it automatically picked up my line. They set the SIM up in advance of course. And then once I signed in with my BlackBerry ID the phone did the rest.

Done.
