I just carry 4 z10 batteries. I rarely use more than 3 total in a day - as the battery life has really improved.

The quick swap in 3 minutes is fine and I like using the batteries to the end.

I just recharge them all at night

Holy crap!!! 4 batteries??? I thought carrying around 1 extra battery was playing it safe but you blow me out of the water. :-)

I was carrying around 3 spare batteries for my Z10. Now that I have a Z30, I don't worry about my phone dying during the day. I still top it off every chance I get since the battery is not swappable.

Just get a 4500mah battery from Amazon, bit bulky but does a great job when away from a charging port. Only $20 bucks!

I just purchased the Z30 from BlackBerry's store after confirmation that it was the fabled -1. If it isn't, then they will see the fastest return in the world. :-#

They must have recently added it. HotFix and others, myself included, have been trying to ascertain the model# all morning.

I think it is the -5 as that is what I received thru the Employee website. Got it last week. Website just said compatible with att and t-mobile. Did get a white one though.

The person on the phone who swore it was a -1 after repeated questioning. It is on backorder but once it comes it I will be happy to post a picture confirming it.

If you called a number you found on the ShopBlackBerry.com website, you were probably speaking to the third party that handles orders/fulfillment there. Not that they shouldn't have been privy to all of this information, but not surprising that they are uninformed. Especially if they are using a farmed call center for the customer service number.

Actually I spoke with digital river that's who sells the phones. I also spoke with tech support at blackberry and they had even less knowledge.

I am about at my wits end with BlackBerry...

After spending an hour in the phone this morning only to be "swore" to by a lady that this is the STA100-1, to later find it is actually the -5 but they refuse to let me cancel the order (after another 45 min), I think I am done with the BlackBerry platform. I don't think they could make it harder if they tried, and I am sick of trying and defending them.

Sorry if this comes across as emo, but I tried really hard to stick up for this company as a Microsoft Employee, but at a certain point you have to give in and stop trying. I am really sad about this as I think the Hub is bar none the best messaging "client", but when BlackBerry fights you tooth and nail on making their product successful eventually you have to give in.

I believe you spoke with Digital River, which is a third party. It's still a mess, but the -5 will work, just not the same LTE coverage.

Yep. Digital River would be the third party I mentioned that handles orders/fulfillment for the website.

Regarding BlackBerry tech support, it is possible that they farm out to a call center for low-level questions and only escalate the call to true BlackBerry support if the question can't be answered with the info they are given. Not saying that is definitely the case, but I have heard of larger companies doing things like that.

Well, I spoke with someone at BlackBerry, and they had no clue either. At least he tried to help by creating a ticket and patching me through to useless Digital River again, but ultimately, it did nothing for me.

Digital River has been a disaster since the beginning of their relationship handling shopblackberry. Somehow they are still being entrusted on essentially representing the brand by being their on-line "store front" (it's apparent most don't realize it is actually a third party).

Seriously though, BlackBerry couldn't make every step of "the BlackBerry experience" any harder if they tried.
