Before the announcement of the committee for strategic alternatives, there were rumors that same people within BlackBery were pushing for the company to go private. A lot of the rumors flying around, are that Prem Westa is looking to take the company private. It occurred to me that the plan all along was to go private, and while BlackBerry might be field offers for parts, or all of the company, selling the whole thing was never their goal.

Recently it was announced that BlackBerry was accelerating their plans, to have something in place before November. Could it be that at this point, they know for sure that they are going private, and do not want speculation of what is going to happen with the company hurt the Z30 sales? It would make sense to have the smoked cleared before launching a new product.

If there is doubt as to if the company will be around in the next two years than than uncertainty will hurt any sales the company might make. They should figure out what they're doing before they launch the Z30.
