It's faint, very noticeable when upclose.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, or if this was a known defect of some sort.

I've had the phone for a few weeks, hopefully will try for the warranty.

If you are referring to a hissing sound before and after some audio is sent to the speakers or headphones, I have experienced this with most electronics devices.

The device should be quiet when no audio is playing.

If you can hear this hiss constantly while nothing "seems" to be playing, then it could be the audio feedback setting where a "tap" plays when you use the keyboard. If you've set your volume high, turning it down a notch might help.

Yes, I noticed this on my Z30. Right before and after a notification, or if I had the keyboard feedback on then basically whenever you were typing.

Turned off the keyboard feedback and just learned to ignore the notification pre-post hissing. Probably the only flaw of the Z30's otherwise-amazing (for a phone) speakers.
