It feels like the speakers on my Z30 are blown. The sound quality is terrible especially at high volume... any advice on how to solve?
    Thank you.
PS this is my 2nd Z30 and I experience the same problem with the first one

You know high volume all the time and starting music instantly on high volume will knacker the speakers?
But, if it's a sort of crackly hissing sound, it's known, a lot of us get it, myself included, my top speaker sounds dreadful

Very strange report! Are you in the habit of listening at high volume? Even then, the Z30 dual speakers shouldn't give in. I am admittedly at a loss to explain , particularly when it is your second Experience.

The Z30 does some speaker trickery for its 'natural sound' (or whatever BlackBerry call it). The midrange seems to go through an EQ filter, which causes a strange distortion that is particularly evident in certain music. Sometimes it actually sounds like a ghosting of the track playing in the wrong key.

If that's what you're hearing there's nothing you can do. Then again, impressive as the Z30's little speakers are, you really should be using a Bluetooth speaker for music.

Thank you all for getting back. I do often listen to music at high volumes. The problem also affects notifications. The sound quality is not the same since the unit was new... perhaps it is time to have the speakers serviced....

That may well be your issue, the Z30 has powerful speakers, the thing vibrates itself sometimes even

What he struck me is that I have experienced the same speaker issues on two Z30, leading me that this problems is more than an unfortunate coincidence...

Are you able to post a video so that we can hear the problem you're experiencing with the sound?

Take a can of compressed air and blow lightly to moderately into the speaker cavity. It is possible that the speaker could be contaminated with dust or other materials that are vibrating off of the cone.

I had a Passport before my Z30 and the speakers did the exact same thing until I blew them out.

I'm having a similar but probably unrelated issue with my Z30 speakers. The top speaker is always quieter than the bottom speaker. Around half the volume maybe. Is this normal?
