Not sure if this solution has been posted yet but this is how I overcame my lag issue on my Z30. I cleared my Internet cache and then turned the BlackBerry completely off for one minute than rebooted. After the reboot I deleted some videos from my phone as to make sure the operating system has plenty of room to work properly.

No more lag with phone calls or volume buttons or anything else.

so you keep videos on your device memory and by deleting them you made some room? I am unsure whether that affects the lag. I think its the OS itself. But glad it worked for you.

Actually it was someone else that stated that he cleaned out his cache files with an Android program and then rebooted his system then had no lag. I just used the BlackBerry cleaning cache system itself, rebooted and then got a message saying that the system may be slow and advised me to delete some apps. I had about 150 apps. While I was deleting unused apps I realized that I had 1.5 gigs of video on my device.

I none that a Windows computer will slow down to a crawl if too much cache is sitting on a system and/or the computer has not been fully shut down for a while. This same circumstance may hold true for BlackBerry. It fixed my problems.

I would advise anyone to clean their cache and totally shut down any computer system weekly to avoid slowdowns.

    Holy Crap!!!

I only have 18 installed apps including Amazon store, CB10, BlackBerry weather, travel, BBM meetings, Twitter, LinkedIn, some parking pay services (2), Kobo, Timesheet, Expensify, etc.

    Maybe a reason I don't have a phone lag problem ?

150 apps is a typo, no? When I was on iOS I never had more than 10 apps in addition to what comes with the OS.

At some point every phone will raise the flag and start crawling.

FWIW : On my ZED I am using Trip it, Pulse, SWR3 (Radio station), Be Maps and 2 others. That's all.

Perhaps the reason no lags has been noticed thusfar.

The only solution that can reduce call lag is restarting the phone every 24-36 hours...
I had noticed the lag becoming too much if I don't restart phone for 5 days!!!

This might not pertain to your Z30...but I was having the very same call lag issue with my iPhone 6, and I was all set to get another iPhone through insurance, drop Verizon service, or go to another device completely. But, the VZW salesperson activated a new SIM card for me...and the issue went away. I don't know what carrier you use for service, but having them replace the SIM might make a difference.

I still have 72 apps beyond the ones that came with the phone. Only 5 are from the Amazon store, the rest are from BlackBerry World. I think I should get BeMaps next. I have not had any lag issues since I have unloaded. I also have 29 albums from Digital 7 on my phone. I moved these to a media card.
