I have used 3 different San disk media cards and they end up having problems. Media items go blank or say 'this file is from an unsupported format '. Who else is having a San disk media card problem and kindly recommend better ones. Also does San disk generally not work with the z30?

I have SanDisk 64Gb in my Z30 STA100-5 and have no problems. Try to reboot the phone.

I have had problems with SanDisk cards in the past and now swear by Kingston. I now have several Kingston cards (64 gb in my Z30) and have had NO problems with any of them.

I always used SanDisk cards with my phones, never had any problems with them. Just recently upgraded to a 32 gb card from my old 8 gb SanDisk card, no problems here.
But you're not the first one that mentioned problems with SanDisk, heard that before. *knockonwood*

The main problem is that, SanDisk being the big name in SD cards, they are the favorite for the cloners.

Where did you purchase these cards?

Only time I have had issues is with counterfeit cards, which were a result of purchasing off of eBay.

I have used SanDisk and Kingston in the past, now Transcend, never had problems with any of them. As others have said, format the card on your phone, not on your computer, and also, make sure that the file you're transferring from your computer to your SD card isn't corrupted. I do this by using a utility called Teracopy which checks for the integrity of the transferred file (if it was corrupted in-transit, etc.)
