Does it matter at this point... it's a two year old phone?

I think most everyone understands that it most likely isn't GG as BlackBerry has refused to comment on it. If someone is looking at the Z30, it's because they want a BlackBerry... no matter what the specs are.

I emailed them for curiosity's sake. Whatever glass it is on the Z30 feels really nice.

And that's why I put a tempered screen protector on my Z10s and Z30.

Plus the tempered glass protectors are cheap now.

I, too, have dropped my Z30 too many times to be reasonable and haven't had a single problem. Sporting a transform case and a screen protector.

It scratches easily and its a fingerprint/grease magnet. I've used my wife's MotoG and it doesn't seem to attract oil and finger prints like my Z30. I love my Z30 but this annoys me. I don't have particular sweaty or greasy hands. I might try and matte finish screen protector. The one I have currently is marginally better than the raw screen but not enough.

Try a Ghost Armor screen protector. Really not bad for grease.
Gorilla Glass, like the kind on Galaxy S4/5? The kind that breaks if you drop it on a pillow? Having dropped my Storm/s2/9850/z10/Z30 many times with good results, i'll happily stick with whatever BlackBerry is using, thank you.

+1 on the Ghost Armor screen protector. Use it for all my devices.

You got lucky. One big drop and the screen shattered from top to mid-point.

Really depends on where and what type of surface you dropped it on. I could easily say I dropped my phone thousands of times (on the bed, pillow, couch, carpet, car seat, etc.) with no issues.

Speak for yourself there! I want the best specifications for the BEST performance. Too many of us believed the Z10 was just fine with BB10.1 on dual core Snapdragon 4 ... on BB10.2.3 it's beginning to show performance lags on official Bell OS/SW release (current).

The Z30 will soon also show it's performance hickups by 10.5, should BB continue one with BB10 name.

Ya dude. That what I meant. I dropped my phone in jello and on bubble wrap - it survived, so I thought I would refute the OP.

Nah, I have found the Z30 to be quite robust. Nothing is perfect. But in my opinion it is takes more abuse than the iPhone before the glass breaks

That has never been proven. BlackBerry has never officially announced that. It was only speculated, but most websites will say it's not.

Fair comment. My 30 was in a flip case, fell from my jacket pocket (hip height) onto pavement...landed with case open, screen side down. Shattered around top phone speaker. It was an unlucky drop and felt like slow motion. Lol.

They why are you here...... Why am I here?

We both hoped that BlackBerry was going to get competitive with BB10. And that would mean with their hardware division too.

But BB10 is a bloated OS that has major power consumption issues and at this point is pretty much relying on running most of it's apps in a "runtime" which impacts most performance. And your almost always going to be running on older hardware that is priced at above average prices.

BB10 features might keep many here.... but BEST performance, that is a lost cause at this point.
