I received my new factory unlocked Z30 today from Amazon, and it still has 10.2 installed, I checked updates but device says it has the newest update installed. I was thinking on going to ATT today to get the Sim card that fits to this model but I really need BB Blend and all the cool features of 10.3, do you know why this device is not receiving the new update?

Dunno. If it's factory unlocked, then BlackBerry should at least push 10.3.1 to it.

Since it's new, running an autoloader wouldn't cause too much to get wiped, if anything. Cleanly installs the latest OS.

Ensue you are on a WiFi connection and you should not need a cell Sim to get the update.

I received my STA100-5 from Amazon on Tuesday and it had 10.2 on it too. I after setup I received a notification that there was 10.3 update available.
They didn't send you a branded device did they? When I purchased my wife's Z30 a month ago it was a Verizon device even though I ordered a STA100-5 factory unlocked Z30.

Yes, it is unbranded and also STA100-5... how much time did you wait for the new update?

You have to be pretty careful when buying phones online from Amazon. There is a lot of...lets call it deliberate ambiguity on the part of sellers. If you look in the comments there is no shortage of people saying they were expecting a 100-5 and got a different model. It is likely that what you got wasn't factory unlocked.

Last week I bought a new (the build date was 290615) Z30 from Verizon, and it had 10.2.1.3290 loaded. I went through the setup, but skipped the SIM install and went directly to WiFi. After I connected to Link, I hit the PREFERENCES menu at the top right border in Link, and chose RELOAD DEVICE SOFTWARE. Link downloaded and installed 10.3.2.858 onto the new Z30.

Don't listen to anyone here who says you got scammed unless you find out the phone is used somehow or locked to a carrier.

The obvious fix for this is: OS reload using BlackBerry link.
    Do not restore anything afterwards.
Attempt to update and come back with news.

The notification was quick but took 3 hours to update.
I did setup with no Sim card installed
Is the card in or out when you try to update?

I've purchased many devices through Amazon. Had very little issues for the most part. The nice thing is that sending a device back and receiving a new one is fairly quick. I gave up on purchasing directly from BlackBerry. Spending hours trying to get payment to go through. Guessing there not wanting my money. So I do my business elsewhere.

Try it with the SIM card out if you haven't already. As soon I as I heard BlackBerry was rolling out the 10.3 update, I pulled my SIM card and checked for update and it was pushed to my phone right away.

Well OP looks like auto loader or sending it back. I personally would send it back, so you don't have to screw around with the auto loader in the future. Unless you like dinkning with that. There's something not right. If it's factory unlocked STA100-5 it should update directly from BlackBerry.

I would put a att sim in it and try it, then try it without the sim card. You can get 10.3 but you have to follow procedures.

Just curious, was the OP issue ever resolved ?

We bought a few new Z30's from Amazon, where the seller was Breed and these were all *new unlocked* phones for about $25.00 less than shop.Blackberry even after paying sales tax.

No issues with updating and AT&T provided a SIM free (in the sense that we do not have a contract but pay just a fixed monthly rate for unlimited use of data, phone and text and also have Tethering/Hotspot enabled)

I find with Link that you have to hit the install latest software button twice as the first time it says that the latest software is loaded. So I hit it again and voila, it then starts to download.

    Okayito,

Is there anything preventing you from installing Blackberry Desktop and then the autoloader image ? That would certainly reset everything to default settings plus you would have the 10.3 version
