    Hello,

    the other day my 5 month old Z30 froze when I tried unlocking the screen. It shut down and does not boot anymore. Red LED flashes 1011101 -> NAND memory corrupted.

    How can this just happen out of nowhere?
    Is there anything I can do myself to fix this? I find very little information on the web about this issue.
    I bought the phone on ebay and it looks like I do not have any warranty. Is there a way to get this repaired/replaced by Blackberry?
    Are there any other options for me to get this repaired? What could the cost be for this?
    Lastly, I bought a new one since. Is it likely that this can happen again to the new phone?

    Follow this link and read through as BlackBerry just started offering extended warranty for Z30 owners.

    Hope everything will turn out well for you. I'm not sure if they'll accept your phone for warranty as you mentioned you bought it from someone on eBay.

    For what I have come across in some threads in the forums, the 10.3.1 update could be cause. Have you gotten the update recently? BlackBerry made public a warranty extension applicable to those affected. Sorry I can't provide you with further details on whether it would apply to you as you are not the original owner of the affected device. Wish you the best!

    I am not sure what the NAND error means. If not fatal, you can try reloading the OS using BB Link software. Or you could try using an Autoloader found in the Leak OS subforum.

    NAND memory is the place where all data is stored... seems like the internal storage has been corrupted for some reason...

    Try reloading or give it to service centre as BlackBerry offering extended warranty on z30 for failed 10.3.1 update.

    I had this same problem and looked up the error code, advice from the BlackBerry Support pages which directed me to use Link... boot up with phone attached when recognised select "Reload" which worked getting my Z30 back...
