I just need to get her off the Z10 soon, its almost dead.

She does the normal web browsing, facebooking, some youtube.
Will she notice difference in data speeds on Z30 versus her having Leap or even her current Z10?

Raino will probably chime in here, but I think the STA100-5 model is the best fit for T-Mobilke and AT&T, but I don't believe it supports all the bands for AT&T's LTE signals, and therefore you might not get the LTE coverage she has with her Z10. I do get pretty good coverage with mine for LTE, but I am on T-Mobile.

Versus if she had the Leap which would most likely have LTE bands on our AT&T plan here outside Philly in the burbs

As a Z30 owner in the Philadelphia metropolitan area I can say missing LTE is not noticeable. YouTube is fine. Normal browsing is good. Not one complaint from this ATT user and a Z10 STA 100-5.

I just wanna make sure it will do the job, speed wise.

If not, then I guess I gotta get her Leap when it comes out...

Why not wait two weeks and get the Leap? New warranty and $275. Most of all, it will have all the LTE bands.

Don't know on ATT, but on Tmobile LTE is far better than 4g, particularly on the upload side.

This is where the Leap actually makes sense over the Z30. I switched to AT&T for the Passport and there is a very noticeable difference between 4G versus LTE. Not sure of others not noticing this. I mainly web browse and going from LTE all of the time to 4G is definitely a noticeable decline in speed.

I personally think she will ask why the phone is slower than her Z10. I'm also outside of philly and use the Z30 for fun on WiFi. Thought they'd go on sale before the Leap comes out so I can grab a new white one, but still waiting on that. I'd definitely not purchase the Z30 as my only daily with just 4G especially considering she is already used to LTE.

Not sure if those without complaints have been on LTE constantly then switched to 4G. As you know, we get full LTE outside of philly and there is a definite difference. I personally like the design of the Leap although I hate the name. If she doesn't use NFC or HDMI then do yourself a favor and grab her a Leap. Solid phone for a decent price.

She will enjoy the larger screen, new phone as I don't think the Z30 has been in production for a bit now, and of course LTE.
