We have not needed to do it, but a Crackberry contributer said he hooked up a 1TB external drive.

USB OTG adapter will do fine. Keep in mind though that if you plan to plug heavy duty storage, it may need more power to boot than the Z30 can provide (as in external hard drives).

As was said, I used a USB OTG cable. The drive has an external power source.

Has anyone found a USB pen stick that works without the USB OTG cable. I want a pen drive that plugs right into my Z30

...if I recall, there was a video that showed a BlackBerry employee (I think) using a USB OTG adapter to hook up to a USB hub to then connect a full sized keyboard and mouse, USB sticks, etc...and yes as long as you use a powered external hard drive you're good. he also had his Z30 tied into an HDMI monitor and had a little workstation set up...

I haven't received it yet but will update when I do. It seems to have good reviews and is at a reasonable price.

I've been using a 128 gig flash drive for awhile, with no problems at all. I've also plugged in my 500 gig WD Passport and can see the files, but it can't play video's, I believe the issue is power to the HD is just not enough to spin those platters.

Did that. Used a USB HUB to plug 3 memory sticks and a bluetooth mouse at the same time.

Not enough power on the Z30's port to boot that thing up. Same with my "My Passport" 1TB HD.
