For those of us that was wondering if the new antenna in the Z30 performs better I think I can answer that question. I work on a ship and at any given time we are about 60 miles off land as the crossing is approximately 110 miles from land to land. On the other blackberrys I have owned I usually had a flat spot with no reception for about an 1 1/2. On the galaxy s3 it was even longer by up to 45mins. I am happy to say that I can now call and receive calls from my kids at anytime. Now for those who think that extra bit of calling time is not that important, ,well when your away from home every minute you can talk to your children is a blessing

Haha funny story, I was in a concrete building the other day and 3 people were holding their iphones up looking for reception, I had 5 bars believe it or not.

i was travelling yesterday on the highway for 120kms and 90% of my trip was covered by 3G. couldn't do that without the Paratek + my carrier's network performance, but yeah Paratek made a lot of difference. on a hilly part of the highway my friend's note 2 struggled to get the internet connection but this Z30 just went along.. and along.. without too much hassle.

I came back to a Z10 from a Note 3, took time but now I'm used to the smaller screen again and the note looks funny now.

I was just in a restaurant in a busy area and my Z30 had 2 bars in late. The wife's Z10 had 3 bars...

One area where I have seen improvement I was able to get reception where my 9810 didn't, but people with other phones could so I'm not sure how much better it is.

Does this have anything to do with the topic?

I would say that it's more stable in areas with lower coverage, and it finds the network quicker if the signal drops.

However I like in the UK and use o2 which after a lot of research actually has the best overall coverage in the UK. Sadly all our carries are crap. On that front I would say it's average compared to the rest of the world.
