If still in production, Z30s will be on sale again. No one will buy it for $500 anyway.

Ahh; I was too busy trying to read it two other ways to see the obvious solution. Thanks.

Not since it's been out for this long, no...and not with the history of frequent sale events. They were $250 throughout November then $225 for the last week of the month, back up to $499 for most of December, and now $225 again...and whoosh! They sold out of black ones, and looks like white stock is dwindling. Shocker!

I did that with my white Z30 and had an "incident" and the screen shattered. Ordered a new black screen (easier, cheaper, more reputable, and faster delivery). Already replaced a Verizon screen so it's fairly easy, but have to void warranty... funny though, now my white Z30 will be all black. lol

But, I purchased another white Z30. How could you not at $225 unlocked? Crazy price!

As much as I don't recommend the screen break , it happens and now you have a black and white Z30.

At $225 or even $250 for the Z30, that's a steal! Just think about it, the device was $499 unlocked before, that's a huge savings. I mean I got mine for $250 through an EPP. A buddy of mine works at Blackberry and you guys are getting the same pricing as their employees.

    Look! It's Zedzilla 30!

Just wait buddy. Most likely BlackBerry has thousands in stock, sitting somewhere for many months. Next sale is coming soon. It's better for them to get something than nothing and they will realize this simple fact sooner or later.

if its going to be like this then SALES DEPT needs to either give ETA and Process the order or give a rain check. Lets keep the sale in process atleast. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I predict that someday soon the US market is going to high demand a BB full touch phone. The next Z3 variant should be enough before we get a Z100.

Well if you have a successor for the Z30 in the works, which I would imagine BlackBerry has something. Wouldnt you want to deplete your overhead prior to any advertisement of a newer device? Also the Z30 at this price range floods the consumer market, even if it is in small pockets.

And I don't believe for one second BlackBerry is selling these phones at a loss. They're not in dire straits like they were when writing down the Z10's. They're making money off these Z30 while keeping most of you excited about the pricing.

I don't believe BB overproduced the Z30. No need to firesale them like they did with the PB, Z10, and Q10. I think they have learned their lesson with HW management. $225 is a great deal for this phone unlocked, no contract. If I were looking for a budget no contract phone, this would be it.

Last 2 I got on Black Friday sale (late November 2014) are:
    White 220814
    Black 141014

Previous pair I bought back in late August 2014 are:
    White 090414
    Black 080714

How are you decoding those into a production date? The older ones would have made some kind of sense to me at first glance (080714 could easily be a straight-up date, or 8th week, 7th day, 2014, something like that) but the newer phones codes blow that concept out of the water.

    Richard
The Z30 was last in production in October of 2013. They were manufactured by Jabil Circuit, who canceled BB's contract following the Z30 production run as BB had nothing else in the pipeline at that time.

The dates you are looking at is when the phone was packaged by BB, not when the phone itself was produced. It is very, very common in the manufacturing business to make a big initial run of inventory and then sell that inventory over a much longer period of time, as tooling up a production line takes time and costs a lot of money - in order to get economies of scale, you need to maximize the production line and retool as little as possible.
