It seems everyone of us are busy throwing out figures that the Z30 should be priced at, so my question is which price is right: $0.00; $99.00; $199.00; $299; $399; $499; $599; $699 or any other price?

In order to LOGICALLY arrive at your "sell" price, at least, you should know the unit cost of making each Z30? In other words how much does it cost BlackBerry to produce each Z30? Furthermore, since BlackBerry is not a "Non-Profit" organization, you must factor in an acceptable profit margin ( or perhaps an industry accepted profit margin). For simplicity sake, I have not mentioned or factored other "associated costs" to the end product, at point-of-sale.

Since we can all agree that the cost of making a Z30 is ACTUAL and is a SUNK cost and it is reasonable to expect that BlackBerry should sell the Z30 at a break even price, then my question is WHAT IS UNIT COST OF PRODUCING A Z30?

Personally, I don't know the unit cost of a Z30 so it would be rather foolish of me to say authoritatively what the Z30 should be selling for. It is always easy to be an armchair quarterback.

Doesn't matter - carriers rule. Look at the Nexus 4. You could get it from Google directly for $199, or from Canadian carriers for $400 on a 2 year contract.

For what the z30 offers I think 599$ is a very fair price . But like the poster above me said its the carriers who pick the price.

You carrier prices are discounted. You do know that carriers, often, make their money/profit from the service fees and not sale of phones, right?

Btw, I am talking about outright purchase.
