- I come back to a few points.
as I mentioned earlier I have also a decrease of signal strength. This does not mean that only my Wi-Fi is like that, it means that all Wi-Fi from the neighborhood are involved. as one can imagine not everyone uses the same AP or router and also not the same channel. so if it would rely on 2.4/5G or Channel, then surely 1 out of the 16 Wi-Fi from my neighbours should probably still have the same strength like before.
I used a LevelOne AP with 300Mbps Wi-Fi and 1Gbps with a z30, a IPhone, a Ipad, a Macbook, several Windows 7 or 8 Notebooks and Tablets on it for 3 or 4 yrs now and never had any problems. and now BlackBerry is making a OS update and everything is still working the same, except my z30. Now where could be the problem?
I already changed channel, dropped the Wi-Fi in z30, set up a complete new Wi-Fi (including new SSID). Nothing changed. added a 2nd AP from Ubiquiti beside to check the signal strength. with the result that the Ubiquiti is much stronger.
But the funniest thing happened yesterday. I dropped the Wi-Fi again on my z30, rebooted the LevelOne AP, connected the z30 to a temporary created SSID and had for about 2 min. the same signal strength as I used to have before the update. after the signal strength crashed down again, not to be repeated again.
actually activated the ubiquiti. but this should not be the final solution to replace the existing hardware.
The solution lies in BB making the necessary OS changes, to restore good wifi performance on their devices, not in people upgrading their AP's, routers etc. But how long will BB take to fix the issue? In my case, changing my router fixed the symptom, but not the root cause. I was going to change my router anyway, so I didn't do that specifically to solve my Z30 wifi problems. The fact that my new router is good enough to compensate for 10.3.1 degraded wifi, was just a bonus.kbz1960 likes this.02-27-15 05:35 AMLike 1 - I haven't noticed either an improvement or degradation in my Wi-Fi.
For the record, I have always thought it's not as good as it could be.
My Android device has always been better, whilst in the same areas at home (I never use it outside the home, tinfoil hat and all).

- Apologies if this has already been said or if you already tried it. What I think worked for me was turning my phone off and letting it rest for a few minutes before turning it back on. I did this twice. My WiFi reception is back to normal and so is my battery life. It's all good.

- My wifi under 10.3.1 while traveling was a real problem. I could connect to some wifi, not all. It may have been related to signal strength. Thanks my son had his ipad which could connect when I couldn't. I now have upgraded to 10.3.1.2558 and hoping problem is largely solved for when I need it next time.

WiFi is amazing, range as well as the signal strength. No drops, wherever I am in the house it's full bars, in the garden I still have signal. Monster is this Z30.
Before on 2243 it didn't recognise my wifi properly and wanted me to "login to mobile hotspot" regularly.
Now it's all good. 2582 should fix your wifi too. Hope it comes out officially soon.

But my device also didn't have half of the reported bugs, looks like the STA 100-2's have issues.
Why Blackberry? Because I can!03-22-15 02:31 AMLike 0 - Hi my wifi seems normal as before, but only in a 2 story house and in the office just sitting next to the router but will check if I move around to see if the problem is there, STA 100-2, sw release 1784. If anyone can post how to test will be happy to try.

The problem exists, also or especially in the official release. And to only turn it down and hope that it disapers by itself is NOT the right way for a company that struggles back into the market. As for myself I can tell you that I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT satisfied with BB's acting / behaviour in this case.
As a customer I expect a proper information and solution management.
People kept laughing on Apple on their mistakes on ios8, but they at least tried to or fixed the existing problems.03-22-15 09:29 AMLike 0 -
