I was really hoping they would fix my poor wifi range I have been having with all 10.3. leaks. That did not happen. :-(
Has anyone figured a way to fix this? I'm really tired of sticking 3 meters near the router.

What hardware variant are you two using? On my -3 and formerly -5 I didn't experience those issues. Sounds more like a possible hardware antenna problem, unless it wasn't like this in prior firmware releases?

Mine is STA 100-2. I did not have this problem with. 10.2.1 versions and 10.3.0.1154. And then with all later versions the wifi range was really terrible.
People would tell me it's leak, so I should not complain but I knew that this would be the same with official version. Terrible

Has anyone thought or considered it could possibly be your wifi network? Wifi is finicky and varies from hardware to hardware and environment to environment. Lots of things could affect wifi; multiple wifi on same channels/frequencys, cordless phones, chromes/firesticks, baby monitors, microwaves etc. Have you tried connecting your blackberry's on 5.8ghz instead ?

Don't know how stating facts about wifi is considered rubish, but ok. You win.

I have 100-2 and my phone with offical 10.2 rom has very good WiFi range. Also with unofficial 10.3.0.1154 rom has stable WiFi range, BUT with all of 10.3.1 leak rom and offical rom has terrible WiFi range. The wifi network is same in all test.

So this is the fault of blackberry developers. Absolutly.

What I notice here is that every single one of you have said you're using the STA100-2 variant. Now to do some digging and see what's physically different in the STA100-2. If it were ALL devices at 10.3.1, okay, it's software. But it's looking like it's only the STA100-2 that's having trouble.

    Will look into this.

Indeed very odd. I'm getting -67db on my 5gig and -43db on 2.4. Within 2 or 3 db of what I was getting on 10.2.1 from the same location. 100-5 here.

True. I have STA100-2 and Wifi is terrible! Next to my laptop (4 bars) Blackberry does not find the wifi router signal! This is a joke...
How to roll back to earlier version? In the Update option I dont see rolling back possibility. Before Update I made a full backup but looks, the backup fills back my data to the latest version. Thank you!

I have never had any issue with WiFi on any 10.3.1 leaks. My room is on the 5th floor, and on the ground parking area 40m away from the building I still get my WiFi signal strong enough to open CB.

My WiFi router is set on 2.4 GHz band.

Purely on a technical standpoint but without getting into mass attenuation coefficients and radio propagation, 2.4GHz will 'bend' around a house a lot better than 5GHz will, thus presenting a better range. 5GHz penetrates matter (read: isn't absorbed as much by common HOUSEHOLD matter (not to be confused with rock, stone, etc)) better, but also has a much shorter range. So if you're getting a lower signal at 5GHz than you are at 2.4GHz on a little cell phone WiFi antenna, I'm not surprised. The reason your seeing better signal on a laptop is the length of the antenna. In a laptop there's a lot more room to run a wire that's resonant on x frequency, in this case, 5GHz. That same antenna has to be pretty damn small in a cell phone, comparatively to a 2.4GHz antenna which resonates better at a length more suitable for cell phones. But let's not get into resonance now, either.

Going back to my earlier point, it still seems specific to the STA100-2. I have a buddy of mine bringing his -2 over sometime tomorrow. We're going to disassemble it for the sake of science and see what differences there are in the antenna, if any, and if there's a different wireless chipset.

Same problem here: WiFi totally unusable.

On old 10.2 it almost was usable through the whole house
With new 10.3.1.1565 it sometimes not even works through ONE ceiling.

Also running on a 2.4Ghz-WiFi and already set band mode from Dual Mode to 2.4 GHz
Device is also a STA100-2 (Germany)

Keep us informed please. I have STA100-2 and just gone to 10.3.1.1565 on UK O2. To. Early to see if my wi-fi has deteriorated, though the room from which I'm typing this does seem to be returning a lower signal (on the phone icon) than usual.
