    Hi all,

    Picked up a new unlocked Z30 today. Took my SIM out of my temporary Classic and popped it into the Z30. I can dial out but I don't get any BlackBerry data and I don't have the BlackBerry symbol in the upper right.

    Any ideas what could be wrong? I don't have to do anything through my carrier, do I?

    It should be as simple as put your data-enabled SIM card in.

    Did you try:
    • Rebooting the device (hold top buttom till you get red LED followed by BB logo);
    • Checking Settings > Mobile Network if data is allowed

    Also, if it's second hand and you didn't, you should:
    • [IMPORTANT] Go Settings > BlackBerry Protect and disable anti-theft;
    • Wipe the device

    Hi, thanks for replying.

    Yes, did a reboot.
    Yes my mobile network is on as well as data services.
    I'm using the exact same SIM that I had in my Classic.

    It's not used. Brand new, in a sealed box.

    Currently it's on wifi installing 10.3.2. But whether on wifi or not, I don't get BlackBerry services.

    Let's see what happens after the update.

    Also, did you reboot the way I told you to?

    Suggestion: Check the Z30's APN Settings against the Classic's. Change the Z30's settings to match.

    Yes I did.

    Installation of 10.3.2 completed but still no luck.

    Did a hard reset and still no luck.

    APN settings?

    Device swaps go smoother when I inform my carrier of the new device that I plan to use on my account.

    Looking for an answer to this also.

    Did a carrier change. Put in new sim. Everything works but no berry symbol. Works on wifi.

    Unable to edit apn feild. Probably locked by carrier. But the apn is correct for the carrier.

    Tried rebooting and register BlackBerry but still nothing.

    My last resort is to security wipe but I don't want to if I don't have to.....

    APN screen shows me blackberry.net with a blank user and password field (on both the Z30 and the Classic).

    What am I supposed to see here?

    Contact your carrier. They should be able to sort it for you.

    I can try that but it's supposed to work on wifi without a SIM and yet it doesn't. So what does that have to do with my carrier?

    That eliminated APN settings from consideration as a potential cause of your issue.

    It might have nothing to do with your carrier, but I don't know. You can disregard the suggestion if you are certain that it will lead nowhere, but follow up later if nothing else resolves your issue.

    Try go to setting > about > select from category : network > tap the three dots on bottom right > register BlackBerry.

    I've tried that a bunch of times at various points today. Hasn't helped.

    Stupid question, but have you put your BB ID into the new phone. Don't see that mentioned anywhere.

    If it was new, it should have a standard 30 day replacement warranty. Just take it in, explain the problem you've been having, and if they can't fix it for you, ask for a replacement.

    I have a similar problem. Ported my Bell number to Koodo and I get voice/data but no blackberry services (the blackberry logo beside the signal) so can send and receives texts but no BBMs. Keeping an eye on here to see if someone figures it out.
