Just received what was supposed to be a new z30 from eBay, but had to clear plastic wrap on the box. Had the plastic on the phone front and back, but have this feeling not brand new. Was your box sealed????

The Z30 came out two years ago. It is not new. Usually, yes, there is a small sticker sealing the box. If everything on yours works fine and condition is 'as new' I don't see why you'd be that disappointed.

If I wanted a used phone I would have bought one cheaper. Paid extra for new so trying to make sure new. No stickers sealing the box so I guess the seller is a liar. Z10 needed new battery and opted for the z30 instead. But anyway thanks for the replies.

Was "Brand New Sealed in Box" in the description? If not, then it would appear to be just new to me. Did he have pics of the actual unit on the auction?? Cause then of course he'd have had to open it..

I purchased both my Z10 and then the Z30 from private sellers. While they were "brand new" they were in open boxes and probably had been turned on but never setup. I did meet both sellers at Verizon stores and had the staff check them out and verify they were legitimate.

Cross check imei number on device and box, if they dont match maybe it was a replacement or refurb phone. All my bb10 phones came with seals on the box. Regardless of the outcome, if it had a plastic on the screen thst has a blue lid and thst plastic was bubble free then it was brand new.

The first time I used eBay was I bought a phone. It was a Sony Ericsson w800. Yeah this was a long time ago.

The box was open (sticker was cut) but the phone didn't seem like it was touched. I just kinda shook it off because I thought it must have been customs checking it?

Grey area, I would have expected it packed in Original box, did you get ear piece and genuine charger etc? However that said price is keen for new and sealed and If the IMEI number is legit and the phone is grade A and your happy with it that's fine. If your disappointed then send it back and claim a dispute on eBay.

I just bought mine from Staples, came in sealed by two factory round tapes. Device was covered with two plastics, one for the screen with a red non-sticky corner and one for the back with a blue tab.
