it takes about 40 minutes to download and install. I just finished 2 Z30s and all went perfectly. Initial reboot took quite a while but after that .....smooth.
and it appears to be only currently for unlocked devices, my one locked Z30 has no updates showing

I'm going to hold off. 2558 is working flawlessly at the moment and my battery life is unreal since upgrading from 2267.

Unless this new release is adding additional functionality. I'll probably stay put.

So, to you folks who say .2558 is working "flawlessly" does that mean you're NOT getting the annoying sound feedback from your keyboard? Even as you've no doubt put the sound all the way down?

It seems some people are having this issue, including me (and I'm cursing myself for upgrading so soon from my perfect .1581).

I'm throwing caution to the wind and updating as soon as I can to see if the new update fixes what was already fixed and what the fix update broke. What?!

Well would you look at that! I just tested this and sure as ****, even if I put the keyboard feedback to nothing you still hear it.

Not a defect I'm really concerned with as I like hearing the feedback but a defect nevertheless. I guess you got to pick your battles, for me 2558 has not only improved my battery life but the phone is just snappy when moving to and from screens or apps.

Meaning no feedback on my keyboard, the only way I get it is I have feed back on and lower the volume via the volume keys... but I just wondering if that's what you are doing?

Don't know if they actually mean the virtual keyboard, or the PHONE's keyboard. I can't eliminate the feedback sound from the PHONE's numeric keypad when placing a call Then again, I never could, in any version (probably my own fault...)

Nope, the OP who brought up the issue and myself are not touching our profile settings. We want all our notifications to remain the same but the OP would like to silence the feedback on the VKB. What I've determined in my quick test, is even if you go into the language and feedback settings to turn the volume all the way to zero, you can still hear the auditable response when using the keyboard. I do not believe that is by design, therefore it is a defect within the OS version that needs to be addressed by BlackBerry.

To me, it's not a critical issue requiring BlackBerry's attention at this time but I understand how it can be annoying to others.

No and No.

This is the normal keyboard (not the dialpad) that I'm using right now in a not-too-quiet room, and I can hear the keyboard input sound - and NOT my fingers tapping on the device's glass surface either.

The various options like Silent, etc., are not optimal, as I have to make compromises.
I want NO keyboard feedback sounds in Normal mode just like I got with .1581; that's a reasonable request.

No sounds should be just that: NO SOUNDS!
