Anyone using the Netgear PTV3000 with their Z30 and have updated the firmware? I have the PTV3000 and the Z30 connected in 'Display' Miracast, have downloaded the firmware file onto the Z30 (.sbin file), but it won't open. Also tried pulling up the IP address for the PTV3000 firmware upload page in the browser, but it's not available, keeps saying 'try again', even though it's connected to the Z30.

Currently connected, and seems to be working, but it's recommended to get the firmware update on the unit. Please assist.

    Thanks!

Are you sure that you update PTV firmware via Z30, I think I did it using my PC. It was also written on manual. I connected to computer that time and did from there, but not from my Z30.

Yes, booklet says you can use PC or mobile device. When you say connected to computer, you directly (not wirelessly) connected the PTV3000 to your computer via the USB to perform the update?

Use Internet Explorer to open the web update interface and the file....

Got it, wow, must be from far too little sleep past couple of days, lol. Connected unit to computer, missed actually connecting to the PTV, ugh. Saw that, connected, uploaded file, firmware updated, unit restarted (I believe) because it now shows it's disconnected like it says it should after it has restarted. Whew......thank you to all who jumped in to assist!!

How long does it take to connect to the Netgear at 2nd time around? Say the next day.

I have a rocketfish unit and sometimes it can take over a minute to connect to the Z30.

Anyone with one of these and a Z30 get it working on 1055? The Netgear box can't seem to recognize the Z30.

I had no Issue with my Z30 and Push2tv ...well actually it didn't work the first time...then I followed the instructions. Seems I needed to unzip the new firmware before it would load.

    I have upgraded twice now.

Works well but occasionally the Z30 takes a while to find the push2tv signal.
I have done two firmware updates one via the other via the Z30. Be mindful to follow the instructions carefully as they were are not that clear...

When I go in landscape mode in videos the video looses sync and I just see a lot of dots on my big screen. Any suggestions?

Use a player like Nutty Player which supports Miracast, and don't only do a simple screen mirror...
(other players most likely exist, but I don't use video playback via Miracast to much so I don't know)

So far the latest stable release of PTV3000 firmware that supports BB10.2.1 flawlessly is 2.2.16

2.4.19 will not even be recognized by BB10 device

2.4.26 will give you static interruptions all the time

I didn't test the newest one 2.4.38 that just got released few weeks ago but I don't expect any changes

Anyone tried this with 2.4.38? I'm unable to find the device from my Q10 running the latest Z3 OS and Sprint radio. I WAS able to update the firmware by holding the button down and joining the special network, but I CANNOT connect to show my screen at all. It doesn't show in the list of Miracast or WiFi Direct devices.

EDIT: nevermind. After the spinning circle disappears for the Miracast device search, you have to keep waiting for several more seconds and then it will show up in the list. 2.4.38 seems to work very well with my Q10, no problems with video or audio.

Just cancel it and do it all again. If there is some problem with upgrade or current firmware on the device make sure you do the hardware reset.

I still haven't tried the latest firmware cause I'm quite happy with 2.2.16 and I'm tired of experimenting really

I have to say that firmware v2.4.53 works like charm on 10.3! Besides working Miracast on 10.3 devices new firmware (in addition to new Intel HD drivers for your PC) finally works with minimal lag and watching 1080p videos if finally a reality, no more chopping.

After all this time PTV3000 is getting useful.

Altho my video card doesn't support Intel Wi-Di, I do have the firmware v2.4.53 installed on my PTV3000. (I'm using Windows 7 as the OS on the computer to which my wireless router is connected.)

Even tho I am using an old Netgear wireless router that isn't even n-rated (it's b-g), 1080p videos play well after a 2-3 seconds of initial stutter.

I do notice on the pertinent Netgear support webpage, the following language: "End of Life (Service Unavailable)"

Nevertheless, as noted above, works pretty well for EOL.

Supposed to work with Windows 8.1 Wonder if it will work with Windows 10 configurations.

I forgot to mention that Im on Win8.1 which has Wi-Di integrated within the OS itself so there could be some difference for Win7 and Win8 users.
