Although frustrating, if you can't figure it out you can always get a decent pair of bluetooth headphones without breaking the piggy bank. Its a work around for your plug not working in both ears.

Examine the headphone jack, is it clean and free of dust, dirt and debris? My guess would be your headphone jack is the culprit.

BB Virtual Expert contains tests including tests for the headphones. And you are pushing it in as far as it should go after making sure nothing is inside the jack?

    Good luck

Sometimes the headphone Jacks get too tight and the headphone only gets injected mid-way. This is sometimes the cause for me and hell it causes such a panic in a fine morning.

That's actually a pretty GREAT suggestion for a busted jack!

As someone said check for debris, I've fix a few due to lint, just a small screwdriver and it's all good.
