    My brand new Z30 died suddenly after 1 month of use. I was on a call and the Z30 just shutdown (battery was almost full) and I could not turn it on. Nothing worked, soft reset, hard reset, any button combination, the Z30 would not even charge (no lights on when charger connected). I sent it back and it was replaced with a new Z30 but I was not informed what happened.
    Really sucks, lost some recent contacts and it took 8 days to get new phone. Had to buy a SIM card adapter to be able to use my old Bold 9900 while waiting for the verdict on the Z30.

    1) Has this happened with anybody else?
    2) Any feedback on why a brand new Z30 would just suddenly die completely?

    No I haven't heard if this, but like most things you buy these days the defective rates are going up.

    Sorry to hear about what happened to you and I hope it's just a one off occurrence and not a factory defect that could become a major issue for the company

    I bought mine on release day in Canada, and I've had no problems with it. Sounds like and hopefully you just had bad luck!

    Also happen with my mate his phone after 2 days. Just stroke dead after he charged he was sending a email and black screen and complete dead. He switch it in the store but he get hit after 3 weeks.

    I tried connecting the Z30 to my laptop, that didn't work either. It was like the Z30 just went poof and that was the end. btw, I had the Z30 in an OtterBox Commuter Case from day one, I guess that level of protection didn't help either.

    Yeah I know but thought maybe you had a blacked out lcd.
    Leave it plugged in and try the same or leave it overnight to see if it switches on in the morning.

    There will always be a defect in the bunch. Seen it happen to a Z10 and a Q10 already

    I am so sad man what has hapenned with your Z30, but i am not surprised because, me as well u did not find the Z30 like it was described to me. There are some errors that are hitting my phone but when i reboot it, it works again. I don' t think that it is something professional. To be honest, i am thinking to switch to Samsung...
