Question Moving from Z10 to Z30... Is it worth?

I'm a BlackBerry user since 2008 and currently I have a Z10. Previoulsy I own the Bold 9900. Since a year ago, I have a BB Z10 and I'm happy, but now I want to move to the Z30. Worth it? I worry about the news of the company saying that they will not make more efforts on the end user, and the software that will focus on emerging markets in Asia .... I need some advice and opinions! THANKS!

I made the jump from a Z10 to Z30 and it was well worth it, from Battery life to screen size it is amazing. Feels great in your hand too.

As long as people are using BlackBerry's, they will continue to function. I own a black Q10 and couldnt resist buying a white one at a great price. I also own 3 playbooks and 2 of them get used daily. If you think you would like a Z30 then get it. There is still a demand for them so worse case is you sell it and you won't lose any money

And whomever you listen to, please don't, whatever is said about BlackBerry not. Supporting consumers, is based on lies. BlackBerry has officially stated the opposite, - so go ahead, upgrade to Z30 and be happy

I did, but upgraded from an iPhone 4S. Very happy with the decision - screen size and quality, battery life, and keyboard that is easier to type on thanks to its larger size are the major pros for me.

I too had the Z10 and upgraded to the Z30. I was shocked at how much better the Z30 is. The improved battery life and larger screen combined with the super smooth OS and best in class speakers make this a workhorse business phone. Even the Iphone stalwarts at the office are talking about the Z30 ...

I went from z10 to z30, best decision ever. No more worrying about having a charger in the car, the battery lasts all day.

I'm super pleased with the Z30 having upgraded from the Z10. The battery life alone, coming from a user who needed to swap batteries half way through the day, was worth the upgrade for me. The screen, which was my primary reason for upgrading (I'm a major picture viewer/sharer), is excellent! I was wary about the slightly lower PPI, but it has proven to be a non-issue. Size in hand is just fine. It's perfectly useable with one-hand for typing, though buttons in high corners can be difficult. Two - thumb typing is the best ever on a touch screen.

    Get it now!!!

I have followed the same BB path as you. I just switched from the Z10 to the Z30 in November and I have zero regrets. Huge screen, ridiculously long battery life, incredible keyboard. I couldn't be happier. Well, I would be happier if this 10.2.1 update would get released by Verizon I guess. I actually switched back to my Z10 when that update came out, and the Z30 update was rumored to be coming out on 2/10, so I figured I'd use the Z10 until then, but when the Z30 update didn't come I switched back to the Z30 because I missed it so much, even without the updated software.

One charge on Z30 is more juice than a charged Z10 with a charged spare? If yes, how much more, approximately?

I made the jump as well....

Was happy with the z10. (except batt life but a spare batt fixed that)

But "the blackberry guy" around my work I had to have the latest and greatest.

You'll notice big differences in typing, and general speed.

It was well worth it for me. The size fits my hand better, the screen is easier on the eyes, the keyboard is so much easier to use, it reminds me of the 9930. The battery lasts about twice as long as the Z10, for example I got Mireo working through my trucks Bluetooth, then I forgot it was on for three hours. It drained about 30% of my battery, where it would killed my Z10 battery in 1.5 hours. The QI charging feature is cool too. I use the TYLT charger which charges the phone right through the case. Im not a gamer per se, but from time to time Im left in the car while the wife shops. Pixelated looks fabulous on the Z30. Finally, I had always heard tell of folks who no longer had need of there tablets when they got their Z10. That didn't happen in my case, but now I see it happening with my Z30. If you're a Verizon customer expecting to trade in an older smartphone for at least 100 dollars, it would be best to activate the older phone, go in store, get the deal done there instead of online. Read my ongoing tale of woe in the Verizon forum.
    HAVE A GREAT BB10 DAY!

I also made the switch from Z10 to Z30 and it is well worth it, the extra screen size and battery are two features which makes it a better device but there are many more......many many more.

Yes, it's worth it. The hardware is superior, everything runs faster and smoother, you can leave many apps running at once without lag, screen is fantastic, sound is World-class IMO(music sounds amazing), the battery life is very much better (assuming you don't install a misbehaving app) and it feels better in your hand (smoother and curved). The only drawback I have found is it is a bit heavier than I had hoped but I'm sure it's the heavy duty battery. Worth the trade off. I am keeping both devices also. Always good to have the Z10 as a spare just in case.

I'm thinking I'll have to keep my z10 around since it seems to take better pics. Anyone else notice this?

I made the switch as well and in my experience the 30 is a considerable upgrade over the 10. Have a Moto X here as well and while it is a very nice phone that does everything well, the 30 beats it when it comes to daily communication ease.

I've taken a few nice pics with the Z30 in the short time I've had with it, but so far, I find the Z10 pics a little more crisp and color accurate. If you haven't tried Story Maker yet, I very much recommend that you mess around with it. Very cool feature! I made a short movie with it using some pics, short videos, and pics altered with the built in editing features from a trip to the beach set to the song "Toes" by Zac Brown Band. Turned out really cool.
