You're on an older OS. Memory management continues to improve with each new leak. Low memory in and of itself is not necessarily a problem so long as it is recoverable by the device's memory manager when needed.

Restart / reset the device may close unnecessary apps that running in background.

Because BB10 is a resource HOG...

You can go through and delete some Apps that stay open in the background... but if your like me I found five Apps that I don't need notifications from and that I hardly use. Even killing these only freed up 120MB.

I've noticed that if you do a clean install and leave out the SD Card and don't have any pictures, music or files on your device, if you only have one email account with only a few contacts... your memory usage is much lower.

But I've never really noticed a major issue with loading apps or moving through the UI. Maybe a few games do take a long time to load, but I kinda expect that on the older hardware of the Z10. It's funny my new FULL Windows 8.1 Tablet only has 1GB of RAM, and has done pretty well performance wise. No it isn't a powerhouse, but nether does it get bogged down doing basic functions you would expect on a tablet.

My free memory usually hangs around 500MB as well. But you need to ignore the number. The true test is how your device behaves when you fire up a few apps. If there is no lag, the memory manager is handling things well. As I say, this is improving significantly with each new leak.
