I just bought Z30 as an upgrade to my one year old Z10. I was about putting up Z10 for sale before i discovered that the minimum brightness setting of Z30 is way too high compared to Z10 at night. I can't read from Z30 at night like i do with Z10. This is the same issue i have with my Bold 9930, the minimum display brightness is same as torch light. Has anyone tried any app to further reduce the screen brightness?

Z30 screen blows. It's hardly an upgrade to the Z10.

The only thing that I preferred on my Z10 over my z30 is the screen. But my complain is that the 30 screen isn't bright enough. How can yours be too bright!

Z30 has an AMOLED display so it is designed to be bright on external environment. This is the reason why the display is still bright on minimum brightness level..

You are correct. I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which also has AMOLED display. There are so many Android apps to turn the screen of Note 3 dark. I try some of them on Z10 without success. Has anyone one tried any Android screen dimming app on Z30?

For me, setting the White Balance to Warm White helps with the night reading.

This is indeed better for the eyes and it's easier to read.

I can't believe that moving back to a Z10 because something like screen brightness, is even an option given all the other advantages the Z30 brings to the table over the Z10.

    Look! It's Zedzilla 30! ?

I use the phone more at night than the day before of my work.

I understand the OP. The other advantages are nothing when the brightness gets the eyes too tired. On my Z10 I have to set the brightness about 10% during the night.

I have both a Z30 and a Z10, Each device has different strengths: The 30 wins in battery life And screen size. The 10 wins in screen resolution and pocket-size.

My z30 feels snappier as well with the quicker processor. I only find the screen overly bright if I look at it in the middle of the night.
