I'm prefer sure it's not the phone and that's not what I asked, please do not comment unless you have something useless to contribute. Thanks.

Did you upgrade to Windows 10? If you did upgrade, what Windows version did you have before?

I've had issues in the past with Windows 7 not detecting my various BlackBerry devices, and it's continued now that I've upgraded to 10. In most cases, I just have to right-click on the BlackBerry Device Manager in the task bar, end it, then restart. When I plug in my BB device, it appears properly and it connects to Link. Once in a while I need to go into Device Manager, delete the BlackBerry devices, reboot and plug it in again and it works.

    Hope that helps!

In the case that you did upgrade to Windows 10, the following post might be of help to you (skip to post #7):

I just reread your OP, so here's another solution if you want to wipe Blend and Link. You could use a program like CCleaner to uninstall the programs you're having issues removing, then reinstall them.

I don't know how you could uninstall them and they are still there. Sure you removed them in programs and features?

Make sure you do not have your phone plugged in.... Uninstall any BB software on your computer through Windows uninstall in Windoes control panel and restart computer.... restart your BB device. go to the BB website and redownload BB software.. do not install previous install files... install said software.....restart you computer after current software installed.... wait 2 minutes after Windows desktop comes up.... plug in your device... windows should tell you a new device has been found and is installing software... if not.. try a different cable... pretty standard procedure for any hardware connection on Windows PB... usually a USB issue with Windows... ( all flavours ).... known bug Microsoft has never fixed.. due to it happens intermidently....

Sabes: Done that! No luck with it. Windows 10 had in plan to significantly reduce drivers needed for system to operate. When the upgrade was performed for some reason a new "bad" driver is assigned to BlackBerry Link/Blend, thus preventing communication with the mobile device.

Yes. I know how to uninstall, especially on Windows 10. They made it a lot easier. They're still there, alive and well, which is why I am asking.

That doesn't work because I don't have any drivers there, the hardware tab is empty.

So, let's see if I understand. You uninstalled BlackBerry software suite and it's still there and you are able to run the software? This is what I'm understanding. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Try using a program called Revo Uninstaller and see if the programs show up. Listed as BlackBerry 10 desktop software. If it does then do a full clean. The program will even delete deep system files. It wipes the program clean from your computer. I don't know if it will help especially if it doesn't show up there either. Make sure the drivers and software are all gone. Restart the laptop. Download the software suite from blackberry.com/blend and install it.

Sometimes BB10 devices don't connect properly to Windows 10. It worked well in Windows 8, but sometimes gives trouble in 10. I usually just unplug it and plug it back to get it working. It connects but doesn't mount the drives for some reason.

    Hope it helps a little.

Sorry to hear issue continues.... did you do it in sequence I laid out... restarts are critical in procedure.... to be sure this is a computer of device issue.. do you have access to a different computer to test your device... computer problem solving is process of elimination... if you device is found then the issue is your computer... if the new computer does not see the device ... you have a device issue......have you tried different cables?????

I had a similar issue. Programs not listed to allow for uninstall, but still fully there.

You're not going to like the solution I ended up with, but it worked.

I'm not recommending this solution, it could cause problems, do at your own risk.

I went into registry editor and searched for all BlackBerry, RIM, Research in Motion references. Anything that wasn't just browser history or known files I deleted the reg key.

I turn searched for the same terms in Windows Explorer and deleted all related folders and files.

I then reinstalled Link/Blend, and all has worked fine since.
