Iv had my phone for about a year now and the battery has been amazing! One thing that strikes as odd tho is when my phone reaches exactly 0% it won't die for atleast an hour (0% last an hour before it dies) One time it had lasted two and a half hours on 0% does this happen to anyone else?

Have been some issue with battery calibration, so not just you.

Haven't noticed them as much in the newer OS.... what version are you on?

This is because the phone uses an algorithm based on, amongst other things, battery voltage to estimate the battery power remaining. The less often your battery fully discharges, the less accurate that estimate will be. That is OK though, as it's better to keep Li batteries topped up rather than letting them fully discharge.
