    If you're thinking about it:

I ordered mine from ShopBlackBerry. Someone here posted about loose power and volume buttons -- not a problem with mine. There was also a beef about the back being difficult to get off -- I'd go along with that, but a dime worked fine.

I needed to update the OS to the latest 10.2 version, and I also updated BBM. BBM transferred over automatically, and (surprise..!) all the paid apps (Max Mobile) all downloaded without me having to pay again.

After that, it was as simple as putting the SIM and media cards in the -30, downloading the important apps (NHL Game Center, CrackBerry...), and putting on the new case. I'm using the Otterbox Commuter -- somewhat slimmer than the Defender.

    If you already have switched:

What are some things you can do with the old device? Any creative ideas?

    1) Sell it
    2) Load up 10.3 on it and play around with it

I use mine as a leak tester or daily driver if wife wants the Z30 for the day to learn bb10 and watch media. She is thinking of coming back to BlackBerry after getting a S3 last year. The speakers is the tipping point.

Dust collector for now. The battery-life is horrible. With the Z30 I find the most difficult part is getting the cover back where you need to be sure you hit it right with the silver-part of the cover other-wise it will look as if you phone is falling apart

I say use your old device as a "BlackBerry Challenge" device to get your friends to use for a week or two. That's what I'm going to do...

In all fairness, how often does one REALLY need to pop the back off now??... I popped in the Sim & SD cards... prob won't need to go back in there for a long while.

I got 10.3 on my Z10. Got it around to play with, additionally I got it as a spare just in case "something" happens.

Yeah, this is the one I meant to reply to. Thanks for the good idea -- I've got a few BBOS loyalists in mind who don't really know about BlackBerry 10.
