One is a $600 phone and the other is a $300 phone.

One is real BlackBerry and the other is aftermarket.

One is quality and one is cheap lol

The leap is no down grade. It's screen is way better and crisper than the z30. I owned a z30 and used it for 3 days when I got sick of it. I like the keyboard much better on the leap and it's look is sleek and professional

I owned both, I gave Leap to my wife and I used Z30, she's very happy with it. Leap is a good phone but Z30 has more features, like a Compass can't work in Leap. Anyway for daily used Leap is more than enough.

This thread is years old but the Leap is a downgrade from the Z30 in every way. The only benefit is the screen if you prefer LCD over AMOLED.

The Leap is not as good as the Z30. I bought it thinking it was a better device, I switched back to Z30 quickly.
I gave the Leap away and I found it was too bulky anyway .
Stick with the best 5 inch Blackberry has ever made in my opinion

The only advantage of the Leap is LTE compatibility. Otherwise the Z30 is superior in every way other than subjective aesthetics.

Coming from someone who has had both for years, the z30 is a way superior device. If you need one reason alone...it's much more durable physically.

Superior is subjective..i owned both and Z30 is not any noticeably faster despite having 'superior' specs. Leap has the better screen and just looks better. I wouldn't take a Z30 for free..

I owned the passport and classic and the leap is superior to both

Well, I'm not sure what coloured glasses you have, but the Z30 is definitely faster - particularly with the much improved GPU.

The Z30's stereo speakers, bigger battery, USB-OTG, HDMI-out, NFC, and gyro sensor are NOT subjectively superior specs. The Leap has none of these.

AMOLED versus LCD, and the general aesthetics are certainly subjective.

As I indicated, the only objectively superior spec of the Leap is the LTE coverage.

I'll also add, that the Passport blows the doors off any other BB10 device - no contest. You can argue form factor and aesthetics, but not specs/performance.

It really depends on use case. I don't run any apps using the Android run time, so for me, the Z10 and Passport have almost identical performance. Both are snappy and responsive, so that I'm never waiting on the phone for anything I do.

But, if I were to start running Android apps, the Passport would blow the Z10 away. The Z10 is almost unusable for many Android apps, while the Passport is very acceptable.

So, on T-mo my Z30 (running 10.3.3.1463 says I am getting 4GLTE. Is it?

The TMO Z30 supports LTE bands 4, 5, and 7.

    The Leap supports 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, and 17. Better for roaming and traveling.

I also find I like the Leap better due to the shape and screen clarity, in some ways it definitely is better, also nice to get the Leap but keep the Z30.
