Bought a Sandisk Ultra 64gb in the summer and it wiped my pics and videos. Luckily I had everything backed up. I then formatted the card and copied my pics and videos onto the card, then last night the card doesn't even appear on my file manager! No pics and no videos! Wtf. I'm done with this card...any suggestions for a z30?

    Thanks

I have always used SanDisk cards ( have a 200GB one now) and never had an issue of them wiping by themselves. Try a PNY?

Thanks for the suggestion. You wouldn't happen to know how to restore media from a backup file to memory card, would you?

I always COPY all my stuff on the media card to pc once a month, depending if I have downloaded a bunch of movie/videos, music, or images. That way, I can easily pick out what I need to replace/repair, not having it buried in a backup. Haven't needed to, but they are there in case. I'm running a 128gb sandisk and zero issues over the years.
I have never had any issues with SanDisk cards, except for class ratings when looking for a card for my GoPro (need hi speed for 4k video).

I had a Sandisk too but it's faulty. Bought it from Amazon - wondering if I got a dud?!? Seems so.

Original San disk. There are many fakes out there. Buy from a 'Big' store

Update: went straight to Sandisk and they agreed to replace the card because it was faulty. Very happy about that.

Get Kingston cards. Never had a problem with them.

As the poster above said, I wouldn't put anything larger than 128 in my Z30.

Generally speaking any device that lists a maximum of 64GB or higher will work with any sdxc card. The listed maximums are often just the biggest card available at the time the specs sheet is made.
I'd be very surprised if any BlackBerry 10 device didn't work just fine with any micro sdxc card including the new 256 GB cards.

Anybody has experience with sdhc rather than sdxc? I'm thinking of downshifting to 32gb since I don't need more now.

    It should work well.
I guess the main "problem" is that by default sdhc cards are formatted as fat32, meaning their is a relatively small maximum size for any file (I think it's 4GB or something). Theoretically it could be reformatted as exFAT, but I'm not sure if Android will allow it.

I also seem to recall that there was some potential speed improvements available only to SDXC cards, but I don't remember the details. On the other hand, for the price of a slow sdxc card, you should be able to buy a very high end sdhc card.
