Smartphone & tablet worlds are made of specs. So, how do we filter the best model?

I use a formula to score all the BlackBerry models (2.5G, 3G, 4G). First I listed all the (measurable) specs which I deem important. Then multiply all. Then find the nth root of the result (n is number of specs used in this formula) to get the score.

Example :
Z10 Display quality - 355 pixels per inch
Z10 Camera - 8 mega-pixels * 5 times zoom
Z10 Storage - 2 ^ 14 mega-bytes
Z10 RAM - 2 ^ 11 mega-bytes
Z10 Processor - 1500 mega-hertz * 2 cores
Z10 Battery - 1800 milli-ampere hours
Root - 6 (number of specs above)

This helps make informed judgements about competition, pricing & see through the marketing spin. So, don't worry about lower PPI on Z30 as it is more than compensated by faster processor, larger battery & support for micro SDXC memories !

not sure about this
if you count any bb10 has 64GB of memory (extended by SD card), the result will change?
dont think it works well by ranking a phone with these numbers
another example, you can have 3000mAH size of battery, but with poor battery efficiency on the phone

The point is : you can select or ignore any spec you feel as important or worthless in your purchase decision.

You missed RAM I think. That's one of the reasons the PlayBook didn't get BlackBerry 10 so it should be a a rankable spec
