Mine was set to 2 weeks and after reading this i changed it to forever, Immediately the battery graph started falling like a rock. lost 20% within30 minutes. PIM and system showing 25-30% each( cpu ) ,also the handset was getting hot. I changed back to what it was and now the phone is back to its normal behavior

That would have been while your phone was syncing/downloading all your old emails. Once that finished, cpu would go back to normal, and you'd have all your emails on your BB

Is this only for 10.3, for the life of me I can't find the path to set it to forever as described above?

re: Settings/Accounts/Email/Advanced/Sync Timeframe, set to Forever

That setting switch shows up for Hotmail account, but not for Gmail or Yahoo.
(As a result, Hotmail is alive and well once again )

Didn't work for me either, because ADVANCED was not an option. After selecting ACCOUNT I was presented with my 2 email accounts and Facebook. I selected my Gmail Mail Account, was taken to EDIT ACCOUNT, scroll to the bottom and SYNC TIMEFRAME is an option.

So maybe it's account related? Not an option for my three email accounts on my Z30: Gmail, Yahoo and iCloud.
