Open the contacts app, swipe down from the top, scroll all the way down to the bottom there should be an option to copy contacts from the device to SIM

I use Contact X to save to my SIM card. Swipe down from top to set destination. Once set, it remains so. Every time i add a contact, i do the save. This app is also good for eliminating duplicates.

    Related (hopefully) question on contacts.
What is the trade off from having contacts on Sim card, SD card or device?
I'm thinking security with lost phone, duplication of contacts, ease of use etc.

Basically what you said...having a copy of yoru contacts readily available when switching Sims between devices but i'm pretty sure you'd have duplication issues if you save to sim and then restore your contacts on a new device from backup. Don't know if that's the case for sure though..lol

Isn't there some data you can't save to a Contact on a SIM or a limit to the amount of data you can save for a Contact on a SIM?

Haven't tried it for ages, haven't used SIM cards for saving Contacts for over a decade. Email accounts are far better for Contacts then you can access them from more places than just your phone.
