Hi, my Z30 has just developed a problem with using headphones. No matter what I do it plays though the phone speakers even though the headphones are visible in the audio devices in the music player. If I connect via bluetooth it is fine the problem only happens if I connect with the headphone socket. I am running the latest version of OS 10.2.1. Thanks for your help.

Yep. Still happening. I am beginning to think that the socket may be knackered. Can't even use the controls on the headset. I might have got some dirt in it from work but not sure. Tried three different headphones with exactly the same problem.

This happened to me but on my Z10. First download the blackberry virtual expert and perform the headphone test (sanity check) . If still doesn't work, you unfortunate have to send it in for repair (this is what I did). Mine was under warranty and didn't cost a dime. Hopefully you're in the same boat

Btw I searched my *** off looking for possible software solutions. Looks like in all known cases this is strictly a hardware failure

I am experiencing the same problem since upgrading to the latest 10.3 leak.

I think it is a software problem

    K. BBVE shows the headphones being connected and unplugged. The FM radio sees the headphones fine and then plays the audio though the phone and not the headphones. This has to be a software problem? With the audio select in the latest version of the music player.

Ok sorted it, turned on compatibility with hearing aids and the headphones started to work. So it is a software bug but at least I now have music again .
