I seem to have developed a green line in the middle of my 1 1/2 year old Z30. Any ideas out there or is my screen toast?

    The phone works fine otherwise.

If you hook to a tv using hdmi, does the green line show? That might help determine if it is the physical screen or the underlying processor/chips causing the issue.

Also, a screen shot might help - if the green line is captured - Press both Vol Up and Down at the same time to capture a screen shot.

edited to add: so screen shot did not capture - so might be the physical screen. A replacement might fix it. Folks say it is any easy repair and not that expensive for do-it-yourself.

    Good luck

Doesn't show up on the HDMI out either.

It's got to be the screen going bad. Wonder if it makes more sense to buy a used Z30 rather than replace the screen? I'm guessing a lot of these repair places are only Apple or Samsung fixes.

From what everyone's been saying the Z30 is incredibly easy to replace the screen on. Not sure if that would be your cup of tea, but there are videos out there covering that subject.

You are right it doesn't look hard.

Any advice on a good seller? Are the Chinese guys in Ebay reputable? Seem to be around $50.

Called around and I found a guy to do it for $89 which wasn't bad. I just don't feel comfortable pulling it all apart and he had the part in stock.

Thanks for the help guys. Z30 is good as new. Very happy!

That's awesome! I know the feeling, i had a similar amount of apprehension the first time i built a PC.

I checked my Z30(microphone issue), and noticed that the tamper sticker was broken, so i'm assuming the contacts aren't raised correctly when the screen was replaced. Either way i've got a Q10 on the way. i miss my keyboard
