    I understand, but you are over estimating the problem. What I'm telling you is that searching for Wifi has nearly nil effect on battery life, probably less than running an app constantly in the background looking for cell towers id.
    I had the same preconceptions myself, only to realise that there were no gains to be made.
    Best get Basa and measure currents for yourself.
