I have been a big fan of Seidio Surface Combo and Naked Spring-Clip holsters for all my BB needs the past several years. That why; like many, I was disappointed to find out they did not carry a holster for the Z30, which I picked up when they went on sale. I absolutely love the Z30 and I can't see myself going back to my Q10 or Z10.

Well after going through several cases and pouches I settle on the OEM leather swivel holster, however I still missed the quick release of the spring-clip holsters.

So I got to thinking, Seidio makes hundreds of holsters for various phone types/sizes. There must be one that could work for the Z30. After a few hours researching phone dimensions I discovered the Samsung S5 is close match and I ordered a Naked Spring Clip and Surface Holster.
After some minor modifications and magnet installation, the holsters are Z30 ready.

For those interested, here is what I ordered and some pictures of the mods.

First set of pictures are the Naked Holster.

Mods:
Dremel, sand or cut the 2 lower tabs to make room for the "slightly" thicker Z30.
Cut a small slit in the felt and insert a disc magnet. I used a magnet from my old bold case, but any small disc magnet will work as long as it's thin. 1/6" or under.



I'll post pictures of the Surface/SOJITEK Case/Holster combo later this evening.

IN. Was disappointed that Seidio didn't support my Z30.

Exactly my case/holster uses for last several BBs except I go one step further with the Convert Combo (additional rubber layer on top of the Surface case when necessary). Always gave me 3 options: 1) nekkid with the plain spring clip holster. 2) Surface Case on with Surface clip-holster. 3) Convert Case with Convert clip-holster (very beefy holster/locking top clip/ and heavy duty belt clip)

I"ll watch your next post and I may do the same with the Surface combo.

To enable the "on holster" functions of BB10 (lock, shut off/turn on screen, answer/hang up calls, etc). They work based on a magnet being close to the screen.

Awesome job OP! Did something similar for the Passport. Unfortunately my starting point was a GS3 spring clip, which is obviously longer than the Passport. Works but looks a bit silly (but I don't really care).

OP, can you take a pic of the magnet?

Here is a picture of the magnet before I installed it under the felt layer.


Also, here is a good source for those looking for cheap magnets. These even have an adhesive back for easier install.

Here are some pictures of the SURFACE holster with my Z30 SOJITEK Case (purchase link in first post).

I should note that unlike the "Naked" Seidio S5 Spring Clip Holster in the first post, the Seidio S5 SURFACE Holster did not require any modifications other than the magnet install.

The Z30 with Case fits the S5 SURFACE holster perfectly.

The commuter will not fit the surface holster, however it may fit the Seidio Dilex holster. The Dilex case and commuter case are very similar.

I have a Dilex holster on order. I'll let you know the results next week.

I also use the samsung galaxy S5 spring clip holster for my Z30. At first it was a little tight, but I didn't dremel anything. I just put the z30 in, and wedged a piece of cardboard in front, and left it in the case for several hours. Now it fits perfectly. I used a magnet from my z10 holster, but I just peeled down the soft lining half way, slid the magnet into the groove, and replaced the lining. The adhesive is very strong, and now you can't even tell it was moved.

I've used it for several months, and it works perfectly

Just a quick update for everyone on the OtterBox commuter / Dilex holster combo.

Turns out the S5 Seideo Dilex holster fits the OtterBox commuter case very well.

I did take a hairdryer to the bottom corners of the holster to allow more space for the case but overall I am very pleased with how everything fit

I've been using the combo for a week now.
